It’s important to have a good mid to enforce your turn when it’s actually your turn, stops people from playing disrespectful and mashing low pokes when they’re at disadvantage. That in turn lets you apply other mind games once your opponent respects the fact they can’t mash their way out of your retaliation

There’s a point of diminishing returns looking that far in depth. I like to understand it in that same depth, then break it down into its simplest form. That’s what creates an effective/reliable gameplan imo Of all the other high level skills, I think I value timing most, but that’s hard to teach, I could explain the concept, but to implement some ideas you’d have to have the experience really.

The problem with zoners in MK1 is you can't change characters after a match in ranked. Ideally, you could just pick another zoner, but MK1 forces you to use the same character. Kameos help a little bit, but it's not the same.......

I always struggle with blocking. If i expect a low hit, my opponnent hits me from above. If i expect a hit from above, he's doing a low. The most difficult for me is, when my opponnent uses a combo that has highs and lows in it. Im sooo bad at blocking. I'm playing these type of games for 20 years now, but i just dont get better.. i trained so hard in MK11, but i'm just so bad :(

its best to know what type of attacks your opponent has so you can identify when to block. try going into practice mode againts a character you struggle against and put the cpu on very hard so you can learn how to block the characters attacks when you see them coming

Still learning this game but just as I suspected before it's release. This was a letdown after mk11. If it would have ended there that would have been ok. That was truly a masterpiece minus a few characters like smoke and reptile that i would have liked. I don't feel that way about mk1. Maybe I'll like it more later but probably not. No stage interactions, brutalities, stage fatalities and brutalities. And the roster is less than half the size of mk11. I could take it or leave it with the kameo characters. Don't care for the tampering with the timelines either, the story was fine how it was, it had already been changed before there was no need to do it again. Don't care for the dlc characters they've announced so far, they should put deathstroke or another dc character besides peacemaker. Being a day one mk fan I'm gonna still play it and see if my opinion changes a bit, but i could see myself just returning to mk11. I've just played story and tutorial and a few matches so far. I would have been fine with simply more dlc for mk11.
