Thanks for another interesting engagement with alternative ways of being in this world - very stimulating.

Thanks, kind sir! It certainly IS alternative - and understandable as to why it is not generally well known in the West. Shame.

This is a book I have on my shelf and I think a lot about. I have only ventured through a few pages but have been meaning to read it. It's on my 2025 TBR list. You've inspired me. Thanks.

Great video! You took a complicated subject and turned it into a less complex conversation.

Another day another great video from Book Ramble. I recently reconnected with a friend I somehow hadn't properly talked to in six years or so. He is now somewhat of a practitioner of Buddhism and Taoism per what he told me and I can definitely see the appeal! I personally become more disillusioned with Western Philosophy as the years go on and while I have read Tao Te Ching before, it might be a time for a reread! Thanks for the thoughts

Thanks! Yes... it has a timeless appeal for sure! Some of it IS obscure, but then that's probably a Western mindset getting in the way!

I really appreciated this video, Mark. Thank you for such a thought provoking 'ramble'!! Such a lot to think about. Should imagine i will be spending a good part of my day pondering upon some of things you've spoken about today. I particularly found interesting the idea of finding peace once competition is no more. Like yourself, i had to think on this for a while, but yes, i think that is true. Society, generally has this 'keeping up with the Jones' mindset and if we could only let go of this idea, i imagine this would eliminate such a lot of stress from our lives. I do wonder what the world would look like if we spent time doing the things we enjoy without any expectations attached to that thing or things, rather than to please others, if that makes sense. Doing something just for the love of doing it. I suppose that comes down to letting go of the fear of what others think of us. What a beautiful walk! Being out and about in nature is such a wonderful way to wind down and shut the world out. Heres to the simpler things in life!! ☺️

Thanks so much! Yes, here's to simple things. Including ourselves if we will it. The keeping up with the Jones' is so common... but as Oscar Wilde said -'don't try to be like someone else - they're already taken.' Be yourself. And at peace. Cheers for the [as usual] wonderful comment.

Oh yes, the wonderful Oscar Wilde! He was absolutely right. ☺️ No problem, Mark. It's a pleasure to listen and to comment! Thanks for recommending The Tao Te Ching. I shall do my best to getting around to reading this sometime. I think there will be some benefits to doing so. ☺️
