Being a suicide survivor (my son), this song could have been written by me. I just relate so much, every corner of this house is him, his voice… every memory. It’s a tomb, and I need to get out of it, it just hurts too much. It’s hard to remember the person I was before, how do I walk around with that giant traumatic loss etched into me, how do I interact with people, who am I now?

@@lynzistringer thank you, I always say, when someone says they can’t imagine, I’m so so happy that you can’t. I’m not sure it’s strength, there are many times I don’t feel strong at all. Everyone is left with so many questions. It changes how you see the world. I never want to be the reason for anyones bad day, I believe, strongly, in random acts of kindness. If I see a young family at the same restaurant we are at, if we can, we pay their bill and make sure to sign it, from Jared. I want people to say his name.

The song relates to Rens best friend Joe who ended his life. Ren has looked at this time in other pieces one of which is Suicide which explains events more.

@@lynzistringerRen has given many glimpses into his past.I get the impression Ren is a glass half full kind of guy. The tragic death of Joe seems to be another example of something that encouraged him to focus on his power something he eludes to in his track Power. He acknowledges much of his hurts but uses it for his amazing work which many seem to understand and connect with. Hence his big fan base. A very talented man as are the people he has collaborated with. He was also part of a fantastic band, The Big Push, who you find also on the KZbin Platform. Enjoy!

@lynzistringer a lot of his music comes from Joe's decision. Freckled Angels is another... some of his friends even opened up a diner and called it Freckled Angels

@@deanc486 it's curiously ironic that you mentioned 'Power', but also began the comment alluding to the notion that you thought Ren was a "glass half empty" type of person, when if you consider that some of the best bars in 'Power' are the following.. "F*ck it, we′re all misguided individuals, life can ♫¸ Suck it, my cup ain't half full, man, I′m filling up the whole ♬ Bucket I'll drink my tears so I can ♩¸♪ drown my sorrows ♫¸ Sing like I might die tomorrow Live brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother, brother.. Ren wrote an essay for the comments of Su!cIde video where he tells the story of his experience of Joe's death. That song is not about suicide. It is Ren's EXPERIENCE of its impact on his life. He does open heart surgery on himself and we are privileged to peer over his shoulder. The point of all this is that you have a great reaction where we get to share your experience of the first listen. So please do more. Have tissues when you react to Su!cIde.

This song broke me my wife of 54 years old passed coming up to 6 months ago suddenly went to work one morning came back home to find her still in our bed so this song resonates with me didn't think I would of made it this far without her but family have kept me going it's just the what ifs could I have done this or that no one knew this was gonna happen there one minute gone the next life's not fair

Thank you 🙏❤ Lynzi ❤ for your 🐷 🎸🧑🎤🧑🎤🌉 Ren X Chinchilla - How To Be Me (live) reaction! The last words are about Ren's friend Joe, who went missing on Menai Suspension Bridge (a bridge crossing the Irish Sea) on a windy night 13 years ago. Ren comes back to this in a number of songs, as in Freckled Angels, Su¡c!de & For Joe among others. It is the answer to the "why?" ...he forgot "How To Be Me".
