I used to be heavily addicted to drugs, didnt like other people especially myself, was never getting anything accomplished. Studying buddhism has opened my eyes to a brighter and marvelous world curing my depression, everyday i have been building a greater understanding towards others. I want to thank Ajahn Brahmfor's lectures being a part in my exciting transition towards enlightenment. If anyone has any links to some lectures I would love to hear from you.

Same. Back in 2010s I suffered from such a severe depression that I remember just thinking to myself how I would live my life like that. In 2012 I listened to my first talk by Ajahn Brahm and decided to gave meditation and buddhism path a go. It not only made me accept and naturally let go of my depression in many ways, but made me a much genuinely happier person. Ever since then, it's still my safe haven in times of trouble.

I've had a part of me that has been "mentally ill" for over 40 years. Thank you for sharing the only way to recover, is to start seeing the good. I started listening to audible quotes on youtube about 3 or 4 months ago instead of the problems associated with the mental illness, and I've been able to be calmer and more peaceful with a love for mettha meditation. I had a psychiatrist tell me the core of my problem was self destruction. But thanks to Budda I've learned that I can search the whole universe for someone who deserves my love and compassion more than myself, and I'll never find them. The peace I've found can't be expressed with enough gratitude to the Buddhist monks and Buddhist stories I've found. Everything happens for a reason, trust it don't doubt it.

I was a Muslim, I started watching Ajahn Brahm to learn about Buddhism, after watching videos on the life of Buddha, reason being wanted to learn what I could use in debating Buddhist, Perhaps get some converts to Islam, But the more I watched of him the more I came to respect & like him, long story short, I converted to Buddhism, I went from Christian to Muslim to Buddhist, I'm very happy as a Buddhist.

That is good news that you became a Buddhist, but you can still be Christian, but it entirely up to you and your decision. Don't worry about what others are saying to you such as go to hell, just ignore him or reply back up to you my friend. The three poison that Buddha wanted to never grow is hate, ignorance and delusional. That person said go to hell got hate, ignorance and possibly delusional as well. He/she thinks that Jesus is the only way or Christians etc. No matter what be very mindfulness towards others as well as keep doing mindfulness meditation of every second of your life until we die.

Ajahn Brahm's talks are amazing in every video he makes so many good truthful realizations of life. Whereas other monks go on about pretty much the same thing again and again in each of their subjects, but just because they dwell deeper into each point compared to Ajahn Brahm's doesnt make him a 'noob' it is up to us to take any realizations deeper if we want to. Ajahn Brahm's is an incredible kind man and for reasons that take too long to analyse is probably the best talker i have ever heard.

At my very worst- utter lack of positivity and even the want to live everyday-ground me down to my core, let me stop caring about all the borders and the politics and the rules and laws we seem so bound to follow. Ironically, it's moments like these that leave me seeking a peaceful calm, putting good vibes in all the negative spaces. It's like now that the negativity had ground down everything else to nothing, there's all this space now for contemplating, listening, looking for good feelings even though I know deep down...it's all within. Thanks for the talks, they've been to me what a stream is to a couple of lost hikers.
