Cutting too close to a crimp runs the risk of the wire coming through the crimp. It would be more secure by using 2 crimps on each end and leaving at least .5 inch of wire. Run access wire into last bead. I'm a jeweler and the worse thing is having a beaded chain come loose. I also use a crimp cover which gives added security.

Added a dab of super glue would help too. I use that for extra security when I do stretch bracelets because stretch bracelets are more likely to break at the knot.
