In regards to limp vs raise in SB, I think population overfolds and under 3bets even to a small size

Interesting how the game dynamics change slightly with both the ante structure and how the sb is not 1/2 of the bb.

Do you think that the ante justifes a preflop flatting /limping range even with microstakes rake? Does BB defending range increase a lot with the presence of the ante, and should we increase the range by calling more or 3betting more?
@shakes1154 жыл бұрын
calling more, better odds
@Sawstinker4 жыл бұрын
@@shakes115 but if we are calling more, should'nt we also be 3 betting more combos as well in order to keep the same ratio of 3!:calls?
@shakes1154 жыл бұрын
What’s the reason of keeping ratio the same? I don’t think this is a thing
@Sawstinker4 жыл бұрын
my thinking was that because villain is opening wider, if we only increase our call range, he will easily be able to attack our weaker than normal call range, so 3betting a few more value and bluff combos would prevent our calling range from being really weak. I'd assume there's a lot of EV in winning the pot preflop with a 3! in a high rake game rather than calling with a trash hand and hoping to realize equity . Am I wrong in this, can we increase just our calls simply because we have better lot odds with the ante?

I'd be happy to discuss this more on a different platform, but KZbin doesn't seem to have a direct message feature..

Its great that you done this video. I asked you a little while back about how to adjust to antes. I read an article by mmasher and he said you should raise bigger preflop, so now its confusing to see that you say that you didnt think so. I play 10NL and people are min raising and 2.2xing, arent you just giving insane odds to callers especially in bb? I have been raising bigger to 3.5x and dont know if it is hindering me or not. I think i also remember Ben Sauce saying that you should raise bigger at micros as you are playing weaker players so why wouldnt you want a bigger share of a bigger pot. Mind you I am still not really beating the games being around break even so maybe not true for me.
@Jarretman4 жыл бұрын
RFI size should be the last thing you worry about imo. I said in the video anything between 2.2 and 3 is likely fine, and slightly bigger is also likely fine (especially from the BTN).

did i understand it right? rake - 5% cap $3. lets image SB vs BB all-in. The pot is roughly = 200bb or $50. 5% rake will be $2,5. That's why these games are basically uncapped?

Its stupid to play Zoom at this Stakes.
@petergriffin56874 жыл бұрын
@Trevor Lahey it is not, its the main reason why player been stuck for to long on these limit, or can you achieve 10bb winrate in zoom pool? Table Selection is the one of the important things at these stakes noching else.
@synchronium244 жыл бұрын
It's a tradeoff. Playing more hands per hour on Zoom means you need a lower BB/100 winrate to generate the same amount of profit. Playing Zoom instead of soft tables also raises your skill level in the long term. Still, in general I suspect you are correct that table selecting is the better option.
@ElPr3dator4 жыл бұрын
@@petergriffin5687 Table selection is one of the key aspects in any limit in order to attain a long term winning rate, no doubt. The zoom pool on the low limits being so big it is a kind of disadvantage, playing almost every hand against unknowns. Still, as a decent player (you don't have to be playing regularly this stakes) one could very easily recognize that in this very big pool, on one hand there is a very small percentage of regulars and they are also not fucking +15 bb grinders and on the other hand the recr. are very loosy goosy splashy players, not nits. So having an idea of the pool tendencies at this limits and playing solid poker (tight pre ranges, overfolding against agression without any reads and generally underbluffing) compensate - along with the number of hands you play - for the "poor table selection". So, yes, in theory it is very easily to achieve a decent winrate in this pools. In practice? Of course, you have to dedicate yourself studying, learning and looking always for +EV spots. Playing like a robot for years, not paying attention and not be willing to dedicate time for learning has an equal impact/signification for one being stucked . Table selection itself doesn't make you a winning player, unless you are paying attention to the other key aspects. It is all about...balance, in every aspect of poker and life.
@petergriffin56874 жыл бұрын
@Trevor Lahey its maybe 2 or 2.5 x volumen with 4 tables of zoom, but you will never be able to achieve a winrate like @ normal speed tables with less volumen. And the biggest missconception are that u think you improve only by playing, playing 1k Hands per Hour meens 3,5 second for any hand what u will learn at that short period of time. Lower Winrate means also larger BE or Downswings, and it means also you need a WAY tighter BRM.
