Yeah it's better because you can reset it, and almost no bosses are immune. Sucks that the dancer is though. Also, I might be wrong about this, but I believe ripostes cannot trigger the bleed effect to activate unlike with frost.

@@Wuuff Yes, I was wrong about that. Bleed can indeed activate during a riposte. In fact, when a riposte consists of 2 hits, which is the case which most (if not all) weapons, it can activate on either one of them.

I did this run before and i never thought of using stormruler! Quite intersting. I chose assassin for the 11 int(that poison staff for various bosses like halflight and gael) and 14 dex(you can get a bandit knife from killing greirat). So i spent 1 level on int and 2 levels on str (12 str, 14 str = irithyl ss, two handed dragonslayer axe) and rest goes to stamina. This whole run felt like an easier version of sl1 no upgrade run

I recently started the same run but with a very different approach. I started as an assasin, using the 5 levels from yoel and carthus milk ring gives just enough stats for my set up. I use the warden twinblades and frozen weapon to inflict both frostbite and bleed. It dosnt work for every boss, but carthus rouge is easy enough to farm for cold resistant bosses, and using the irythill straightsword and a torch work well against the bosses that dont bleed. For wolnir, I should have had the smarts to use the storm ruler, would have been a better option, but I didnt remeber it so I got the morion blade for hypermode and used the normal twinblades with lightning resin. Is it better than the one in the video? Probobly not, but thats the route ive set myself on and I just got past wolnir so Im sticking with it.

Oh given the different starting classes and the 5 free levels from Yoel there are a bunch of different setups that you can use. The one I used is definitely not the only one or even the most effective. In fact, if I had to do it over I might consider starting as a thief (bandit knife) and then use the free levels for strength to wield the irrtyhl straight sword for frost.

I was doing the same run, so I thought this would be easy. Just to realize that my run banned frost and bleed dmg, and I should always be at sl1, which just made the game a nightmare. Currently, I'm on dlc, and dlc is hard as hell with all these restrictions, the rest of the game is quite easy though, apart from: Abyss watchers, dancer, and pontiff, rather easy bosses on itself, but the second phase is a nightmare

This is something I've wondered about for ages, and it's a really cool video. I think the main reason it has no views is because your channel isn't too big and the length of the video. If you have the first part as one video, then you had the stream as a second video, you would get so many more views. Awesome video though

Well maybe and maybe not. In my experience, whatever I try, it doesn't result in a lot of views anyway. Most of my top ranking videos are long. And when it comes to series, views decrease rapidly for the farther you get into it. It's also possible that if I seperated this video into two videos, the summary would go just as much views as it is now and the full length video would get even less. It's all increddibly unpredictable. Ultimately it's up to the youtube algorithm. Well, at least I changed the tumbnail to make sure it's clear that it's a summary followed by the full run. Perhaps that will get better results. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Yeah, I've obviously had that idea for ages, but it would have to be more restricted than that, because it would simply be too easy. It's basically like SL1 with just a little less damage output. Heck even on SL1 I made sure not to use any magic projectiles. So it would be a kind of boring video I think. Well, I performed really poorly against SoC but I still won, barely, but still. At least compared to SL1 you have decent amount of health. So you can make quite a lot of mistakes.

@@PressContinue TL;DC: Hornet does not work on pontiff, gundyr, king of storm or demon(s) prince. don't know on nameless, i cannot stagger him reliably to try. works on humanoid bosses like watchers and friede. Personally tested. Now, for the Don't Care part :) You're right maybe i'll give this run a try, got all saves corrupted a while ago so not really in the mood to grind to max out a char. Anyway, got in your same situation about hornet ring on my (mostly) SL1 (5 lvl in luck to get dark hand) no upgrade run but throw it out the window on Dragonslayer Armour, being killed offscreen for the Nth time by the bullshit butterflies made me delete the char on rage quit. ;) At least Vs Aldrich you can use the arrow volley to get close to him and do decent damage.

Well it's short because there's not that much too it. Yoel levels + Stormruler + vordt hammer + pyromancy flame + Prisoner chain... and that's basically it. And I'd say that these fights are pretty awkward because you need to switch constantly, but you have way more HP than on SL1 and that makes a big difference

Well, I would say that insanely tough is a good description for no deflecting, no blocking, no damage on NG+3 and NG+7. So no, I'm affraid not. If you want a more managable challenge run in Sekiro, I'd say to simply go through the game without using any prayer beads. So base vitality/posture.

why is he hating on vordts great hammer so much at the end? xD its my favorite weapon in the entire game and i pretty much used it in every playthrough i ever did, upgraded ofcourse. i only switched to smoughs great hammer before pontif, because if you did yhorm first thats the earliest you can have +5 weapon, if you play the game in the intended route and twinkling titanite weapons upgrade the fastest since at that point you will have exactly 15 twinkling titanite, if you picked all of them up, but you dont have access to chunks yet and can only have a few titanite scales by that point. and i find soul of cinder and nameless king insanely easy with a +5 vords hammer since you can just use the weapon art and tank/poise through their attacks until they stagger.

Ciaran is the hornet, she loved Artorius the wolf, the Abyss Watchers are his descendants/disciples, so there is a relationship between the ring and the boss. The wolf knight armor, (Artorius armor), doesn't appear in the dark firelink shrine handmaiden's inventory until after Watchers either.

LOL, this specific route cannot be done deathless because of the extra levels from Yoel. You could do it deathless of course but not with Vordt's hammer. Thief would be a good starting class then for Bandit Knife and the stormruler for bosses that cannot bleed. Or irrithyl straight sword would be the obvious frost alternative.
