Would be interested for you to make the same video looking at defenses with a 3-4 front because a lot of the coverages change when you have 8 drop (obviously not in 0-3, but cover 4 would be stacked zones, so on and so forth)

Great video but match coverage can’t be grouped into 1 defense (cov7). There are Cover6 match defenses, Cov3 match defenses, Quarters, Palms etc. which all have different rules vs formations.

you’re exactly right. i tried to mention that there are a ton of different ways to run match coverage, but i’m not sure how clear that came across. when i was scripting this video, i started to write down every version of match, but i felt like that was gonna get too complex for this video specifically. my solution was just to pick the most basic match coverage and let that be enough. but i’m definitely going to find ways to talk about more complex schemes in the future! i’m glad you liked the video, you’re a real one!

One thing to note when throwing hole shots against Cover 2 is you either need to be throwing near side, or have one hell of an arm, and if you’re throwing deep middle, you need a lot of touch to go over the linebacker and under the safety, but you can’t let it hang, or your receiver might end up in the blue tent or the hospital

exactly right! both of these coverages have unique situations where you would want to call them as a defensive coordinator, but they are just variations of zones we have already seen before.
