How to beat the campaign mode of the "Monkey Island" level with 3 stars on impossible.
Specific level info:
The beginning is kinda tough, so make sure you time your spells correctly.
Do not be afraid of "wasting them" on weak rushing monkeys or parrots, because they're the real threat in this level. As you can see during the boss, I used both on the rushing monkeys, as the harassers will take care of Macaque. Just make sure you do some minor micro to move them further back when Macaque gets close.
Group your harassers together so they don't trigger the rushing monkeys multiple times, but separate them when the boom baboons come, so they don't all die at once.
It is important to "blow up" boom baboons early with your units, so they drop the rushing monkeys early on. See wave 10 for an example of using reinforcements or wave 12 for an example of building harassers purely to get the enemies blown up.
General DLC and video info:
The new DLC for Kingdom Rush Vengeance - Pirates is finally here! I have recorded some tutorials for the new levels, as some of them are pretty hard.
I use only free towers (and the DLC one, because it's awesome) and heroes (Asra, you can use Lucerna to make it easier, but will probably have to modify the strategy a bit) and try to make my strategy as consistent as possible while requiring minimal skill from the player.
I play on the impossible difficulty and without the Pit Lord upgrade, to minimize RNG. So, as you will presumably be playing with it, the levels will only be easier for you.
I also intentionally do not micro Asra or my units efficiently, letting them die even when unnecessary. This is, again, because I'm trying to make my strategy as simple as possible, and as consistent as possible, with only very simple micro, such as moving Asra to poison a lone enemy, without tight timing needed.
