PK Rocket's recovery distance shortens if it hits someone. If Ness is far from the stage, you can try getting hit on purpose and teching the stage to gimp him. Ness will also sometimes try to use PK thunder to force you to dodge onto the ground in front of him, then hit himself with the PK thunder into you. You want to watch out for those situations and try not to be tricked by him.

Or throw a projectile at it to do the same result. Although make sure you hit right after the sweet spot active frames, otherwise, it sometimes flat out get nullified. Snake's nikita is oddly a good tool for this as even if the rocket gets destroyed, ness won't be canceled out of it and as a result go into free fall afterwards.

BIG AGREE! a Ness main who doesn't spam is actually a pretty fun opponent. That being said Lucas and Ness both need those MP bars, Ness for pk fire and Lucas for pk freeze and fire. Heres some tips - try to never get grabbed at high percents - pk fire becomes much easier to get out if at high percents -exploit tf out of his recovery by edge gaurding him -save your airdodge during pk thunder and watch out for bait pk thunder where he loops around you with it -pk flash is easy to sheild/airdodge, you just gotta time it right -avoid up air and back air as these kill very easily -up smash and down smash kill very late around 130, so they have much less kill power -juggling ness is easy because he is very floaty -bait out pk magnet as he is somewhat vulnerable after absorbing an enery based attack wich allows for easy follow up -avoid getting hit by the edge of the bat as it deals the most damage -a ness main

As a mess main, I think they I can safely say that PK fire is not broken. It has huge start up and end lag, not as much range as most projectiles, and moves slowly. It’s only really good if he hits you with it at close range, and from far away, you can di out before he gets to big a punish. Even from close range, pk fire is risky due to its poor frame data and is super easy to shield and punish.

Hey 'yall, Ness main here. I just want to note at 1:37, it's a good strategy to avoid yoyo, but do not spam this recovery option. Good ness mains may notice this habit and punish with a devastating PK Rocket. Make sure to mix up your recovery options gamers. I also want to mention that reflectors are great tools against spamming wifi ness players, but often it's better to avoid them than reflect. Good ness mains can bait out your reflector and punish the endlag. Lastly, you didn't really mention one of Ness' greatest tools (imo) PSI Magnet. Its a very good fake out, B reverser, absorbing tool, mobility tool, and combo extender. You want to be careful not to get hit by its constant hitbox because it can be just as good as down throw for combos, and can lead into them. Try spacing the Ness main out to avoid it. It is also a fake out and mobility tool, as it can stall ness' landing. (Which ness also struggles on). Try noticing when Ness mains use PSI magnet to float, and punish them accordingly. I hope this helped, and have fun beating Ness mains to a pulp!

Good question. First, if you haven’t, check out my pikachu video kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ_GhJqOf6yZZ7M Second, mix up your approach. Typically pikachu has to approach Ness. Thunder jolt then grab, or dash attack, or jump. Or approach from above. Just make sure not to run directly into his pk fire.

@@TravPlay i disagree with this somewhat, this is one of the few matchups that pika can't really make use of t jolt. good players will just absorb them in neutral or just while doing magnet approaches. this is definitely the most annoying of pika's matchups, but doable, if barely. Few things to note: Don't try all out aggression, you'll just get stuffed out by ness' nair (frame 3!!!) that hits in front and behind or his magnet mixups. You mostly want to catch on to habits in terms of when they jump, to anti air with pika fair, and when they land, which you can usually hit with pika u-air or up tilt since ness dair is kinda slow. You can get some good stocks by watching how the ness recovers, and catch him out of his double jump with fair or dair. Just watch for when he starts doing up air out of his double jump. Also, don't get hit by up air. That move is strong as hell for no reason and you will die at 70. If ness is below you on stage, just move to the edges. This matchup is really hit-and-run centric, and alot of it is reading habits and whiff punishing rather than being pika's super aggressive, combo-heavy self. Dash attack is quite good, but try to only use it with ness's back to you so you don't get grabbed. Don't get grabbed above 100. Plain and simple. You're just gonna die. Watch out for the magnet approaches, usually they will magnet mid air and land with nair or bair. Nair is pretty safe, but bair is not, and you can shield grab it after he lands. You will die occasionally to pk fire -fsmash at 50 or ness yoyo at ledge while recovering, its just par for the course, try to recover above him to a platform or even through him as a mixup. double jump thunder under the stage is also great for stuffing this strategy. Not gonna go into all the minute details but i'll finish by saying that you can still use t jolt, but only as a mixup approach or to stuff an approaching ness or gimp his recovery. It can't be your main approach tool in this matchup. Dash dancing and empty hops are great for baiting some of ness's laggier options. Hope this helps, this matchup suuuuuuucks to play. The Shiny Haxorus Few things to note. N-air is frame 5. Ness/Lucas can cancel magnet immediately after absorbing, so you can’t punish them after they absorbed something. Ness player don’t always go for down-smash or up-smash they can also go for N-air, B-air or F-air to trow you off guard. Ness/Lucas can bait out your double-jump thunder, so they can absorb it. you will most likely get ko’d, because thunder has crazy amount of endlag if you miss yourself. If you’re lucky, you will still be able to recover. But by the time you’re able to recover, they are already waiting with down-smash or N-air. If you try to recover with QA back to center stage, they can bait it out and punish you with with a strong smash-attack.

There’s literally no reason to go for an aerial offstage to edgeguard pikachu, the smash attacks are much lower risk, high reward. Bair I’ve seen a few times to stage spike, but that’s about it. 3. Of course they can absorb the thunder, but this is counterplay to when people( not just the pk kids) try to charge smash attacks at ledge. Another thing, mainly in quickplay a very common theme with ness players is that they hate recovering with PK Thunder because they DONT KNOW how to use it. I was playing as roy. And got clapped by a ness like 5 times in a row. He kept stopping my ground approaches with pk fire, and kept stopping my aerial approaches with psi magnet, bair, nair, or fair. Funny thing is that if you, as I call it, play it by sound, you can react to the pk fire start up and punish it but sadly, this also tends to be dependent on how good your internet is. 2:16 This kind of isn't true due to how fast it can turn and the fact that if you get sent up to the top and get hit by it at around 100%, you just die due to it's bullshit knockback growth.

infinite the edgy as a Lucas main i agree that there has to be a nerf to the landing-lag to ness’s aerial pk-fire, but what i don’t agree with is to nerf the end-lag of the grounded pk fire. You can do two things about grounded pk-fire. You can shield it like what everyone says. But you can also move around roll distance so if he uses it you will be able to react with jump and punish him with and aerial or tomahawk grab like what i do. Btw if a ness/lucas player is spamming pk-fire then they’re either day one ness/lucas player that only know how to use pk-fire or they are just trollers that aren’t even ness/lucas players.

Best thing to do is be unpredictable, use pk fire sparingly especially if they have a reflecter of sorts, and if they try to stay away try and chase them down with pk thunder, but thats a bit risky and this is only from my end.

For those who hate ness, just know the moves you believe are so bad they need a nerf show that you don’t have an understanding of shielding, DI, or generally working around the enemy. Don’t complain, that gets you nowhere, understand how to work around mildly annoying projectiles and shield more. Most of you guys online rarely shield and you come to wonder why you lost and you dismiss it as a stupidly annoying character, even then, you complained and got nowhere.

darkshadowpenguin11 roblox actually it’s a great idea because it takes 4 frames to actually leave the ground and it can still catch you if you’re right above the ground making it maybe 5 to 6 frames before you’re really save from it. You can shield on frame 1 and pk-fire is -28 on shield so shielding makes it a lot easier to dodge or block it.

Ness gets so much disrespect just for fire I’m a ness main and fighting against ness isn’t that hard you can just di out of fire. When I’m playing that can absorb ness pk thunder I change character.

Down special is another thing to watch out for with Ness. It’s a good way to get in your head, as well as deal with energy projectiles. In addition, it can be used as a combo starter. I often use it to mix up my landing. If timed well, it can be used to gimp some recoveries. It can even be used to push away certain objects, like Link’s remote bomb and ROB’s top. Funny as it may sound, I’ve picked up a decent amount of kills with it.
