Having Trinity limit helps a LOT since you're solo in the fight, especially when he uses the fire pillars. Just limit into him and hack away for heavy damage while he can't even move. Its also good to use on him when ending a combo to continue your damage

Correction for Decisive Pumpkin: It doesn't strengthen your finishers directly. It has the ability Combo Boost, which strengthens your ground combo proportionally as long as the combo goes on. This passively strengthens your finishers on thebground again. Your air combo is unaffected.

Guide is fairly solid, however there is no need to remove Combo Master at all. Not forcing his revenge in P1 is a valid way of looping him in that phase but doesn't work consistently afterwards. Solo Trinity is another valid option for those tricky moments. Also, standing still won't always hit the Shadow Flares (Orbs) it's always a safe bet to move slightly to the left or right and then hit reflect to ensure they disperse. You condensed the guide pretty well though, nice job.

This is exactly how you want to fight him. In the original game there was no limit form though and I seen my cousin beat him level 37 with the Kingdom key so it's definitely a pattern to the way he fights. Even though he said he did it at level 27 but I didn't see that LOL

I also equipped berserk charge for when I'm not able to stop his hp and mp drain move then I just started attacking and wouldn't stop till he teleported then healed myself. If it wasn't for your guide I would have never beat him. Thumbs up 👍

It took me an hour and a half of losing, but I did it. I was at level 73, proud mode, four of my growth abilities at level 2 and used the Kingdom Key Keyblade. I kind of followed your tips here, except I had to get close to Sephiroth so that he won't teleport and knock me into the air, of course later on into the fight I blocked that attack and kept blocking. That was the key, always know when to block. Even when I didn't stop him from using that Heartless Angel move, I immediately used an Elixir to get back to full HP and MP. And when he had two health bars left, I went into Limit form and bashed him quickly with it's classic abilities. So yeah, I'm proud of defeating Sephiroth like this.

He's virtually just as hard on critical as normal/proud in terms of difficulty since most combos and attacks reduce you to 1h either way. Good job though, guess it's like riding a bike for you lol

Also, if you're feeling extra ballsy, you can combo him once with a normal finisher (that's not explosion), then start a 2nd combo and use explosion there to punish Sephiroth even more. When he enters his meteor attack, just quick run or aerial dodge over it.

i just loaded up my KH2 (ps3 HD) and at lv72, decisive pumpkin and literally no magic equipped (not even reflega or curaga) i beat em he's so EASY to read like full second openings, almost 4 seconds to stop his "descend heartless angel" i haven't played it in about 4 years so just starting it up and beating sephiroth (course i made sure what each button does lol) i forgot i can glide/float in place so then i decided to see how fast i can kill em after 3 attempts afterwards, i managed a no damage kill cause floating is so OP, what are you slashing there Sephi i'm up here! LOL again, lv72 real talk, i spammed X (no movement or jumps or lockon) on one attempt to see how far i'd get, i got to phase 4 before he went flame+orb+slash crazy

As soon as I reached lvl 49 and got second chance, I was deadset on beating him. But it got bad fast since one hit would get me to 1 hp and I only had 5 ethers on me. Managed to beat him when I realised that if you only hit the first finisher (before the rotating orbs) you can wait a bit before he hits the ground to do another combo, and if you do this at the very start, the 2nd finisher during the 2nd combo should still hit after he teleports so you could do a 3rd combo

i managed to beat sephiroth with the Fatal crest keyblade ^^ the fatal keyblade has the negative combo ability so you can pretty much destroy him for around 10 seconds before he starts to attack again

You have to finish space paranoids 2nd visit and then he is unlocked. When cloud and Leon are walking aroubd in the marketplace then you know he is unlocked.

I defeated Sephiroth with a strategy of mine (didnt watch any guides on how to and literally adapted as i died, took me one afternoon 4 hours. i was level 70-76, had all drive abilities lvl 2, combo boost, explosion, square button knock up (the one where sora hits the ground with the tip of the blade), finishing plus, one ether and reflect on quick cast, inventory was all hi-potion and 2 ethers. I avoided as much as possible leaving the ground, as it usually means death, specially by his teleport knock up combo>Octalash cheese and its disjointed upward hitbox. 1st Phase: -Block initial Octalash (reaction command). -We want him to use Octalash (reaction comand) as much as posible as it allows a full punish. -stay at the tip of the lenght of his blade or a bit more. -first time you block his normal combo (2 blocks) punish with ground combo and drop it before finisher, to prevent his teleport. -After this first punish, when you block his normal combo do a full ground combo then press □ to knock him up (dont use upward slash, use the other one), wait for Sephy to hit the ground and as he jumps back, reset full ground combo (no knock up and no finisher), when i tried to hit him before he landed he would teleport... a lot. -If Sephy disapears from screen, FIRST block THEN search for him. 2nd phase: -Starts when he trows orbs (Reflect them). -Do not heal with curaga, save mana for Reflect. -Quick run fire pilars around him. -Block his combo and punish same way in Phase 1 (with the reset). -blocked Octalash = full punish (with reset). -I didnt knew you could interrup his "Heartless Angel", so when he started rising up i got ready to use a Hi pot (stay at a button press from using it). -He usually follows up Heartless angel (1hp and no mana) with Octalash, if you derped like me and used a hi-pot you can cancel the animation into Reaction Command then do a full punish (with Reset). 3rd Phase: -Starts when he starts to glow purple. -He can move further with his normal combo. -He now teleports behind you, making a feint along the way so be wary, as he can also normal teleport to mix you up. - Again blocked OCTALASH = FULL PUNISH (with reset). -He can follow up his normal combo into another normal combo so try to delay the punish (if you reset it in this phase drop it after a few hits as he can get out of it by vanish or super armor). -Reflect the orb spam at him (Reflect is cancelable into reaction comand). -to dodge his meteor rain: Double jump into fly from one end of the screen to the other (horizontally), when you hit the wall, land and double jump into fly in the oposite direction, repeat as many times as needed.
