Even if it did work, that would just draw more suspicion to Light. The "accident" would draw a lot of attention and the other receptionist would tell the story of the Naomi and Light visiting the station. What's more, L would easily deduct that since he knew Naomi from a previous case, and who is Naomi connected to? Penber and Penber was investigating Light. Death Note would have ended at that episode haha

Rule 28 is the death must be physical possible - i.e. you can't have a guy jump off a skyscraper if he's in jail for life. I don't see a rule, where he can't put down "On xx/xx/xx, at xx:xx am/pm, [FN/LS] will Die" for a few thousand names and have them all happen at the same exact time.

It's a good video but some of your ideas wouldn't work. The maximum delay you can put between writing the name and the death of the person is 23 days. You can't use it to make someone kill either.

You could kind of make someone kill someone else if you do it perfectly. Say you make the cause of death a car crash. You could make sure someone else is either in the car with them or have them at the place of the car crash in order for them to possibly be collateral damage

Just set it up to where it happens that way. Like if you know someone will be at a crosswalk a specific time of day, or even a gas station, have the car wreck then blowing up the gas tanks or whatever.

It only sounds smart if you don't bother running the real life scenario in your head. Sure its dumb to not diversify your victims but at the same time, at most we can tell the culprit is related to that particular region. We can't tell if they actually are a citizen or perhaps just some random lunatic starting one place at a time or some deity exacting justice or a foreigner who got his ass dumped in that city. Those people aren't exactly related personally to him after all. After that, student work times aren't special. They don't know how Light is killing, so how could they be certain the death times are even related to work times? For all they know, its some 40 yr old dude in his mothers basement who only wakes up in the evening. That's not even mentioning the school workers who would have the same official off times as the students! After that, how do they know its Light and not a regular death? It's not like natural heart attacks just stop because someone else can induce them. The biggest point, is that they can't prosecute him for the deaths. What is he arrested for? Writing names in a book? Contracting with a Shinigami? At best he broke some laws by hacking his fathers computer. In reality this would never have made it past the task force assembly, forever remaining a mystery until the culprit fesses up at least.

When Light is experimenting on victims in eps 3-6ish, he tells Ryuk that he wrote in the notebook, "writes the detective L's real name in blood" and the criminal simply died of a heart attack. So ultimately, I believe if the person has the knowledge, he could have someone send names as long as they know the information. But he can't control them to write the names on death note paper, he could have them send the names if they know. Like penber was sent a list of FBI agents because when penber wrote his bosses name, unknowingly on death note paper, his boss sent him the list of FBI agents. Does that help answer? But you can't write them to give you a name you don't know because you would need the name in the first place to control them, but you could have the person you write down give you names they know of

@@landynbrinyark718 lastly, you don't need to have little details written. Light wrote niaomi would kill herself without burdening others, and so she went missing. But reality is she killed herself in a hidden location, Light didn't have to specify a location for that to happen. Also, he can just write accidental death, and it could be a car accident or they fall or get stuck in a burning building even xD The only time light was so specific in instructions was that he had the criminal on the bus fire his entire round at a phantom during hallucination, which wouldn't normally be plausible, but Light also dropped a piece of the death note for the criminal to pick up that way criminal saw Ryuk, therefore the phantom hallucination would be practical. Which is interesting because technically the criminal can't kill anyone else, you can't write a cause of death for a person that affects other people's lifespans, so I'm not sure why light wrote that because the criminal would never have been able to shoot anyone anyways because only the person you write is affected by death and it won't happen if it leads to others dying, which in case would lead to a heart attack. It seemed like light really wanted to make sure 1 he wouldn't get himself shot, and 2 the criminal would act on the bus and not just die of a heart attack

Nah if you read the manga you see he agonizes for days before getting properly started with the killing, losing sleep and ten pounds over it. Most people also wouldn't turn violent murderers just because they had the power to do it. Light can do it because he was already a genius narcissist craving more stimulus out of his life. If he had never found the Death Note he'd probably just have become a super competent Detective and risen through the police ranks all the way to the top.

The Death Note will not affect those under 780 days old. The god of death (Shinigami) must not hand the Death Note directly to a child under 6 years of age based on the human calendar. You cannot kill humans at the age of 124 or over with the Death Note If you write "die of disease" with a specific disease's name, but without a specific time, if it takes more than 24 days for the human to die the 23-day rule will not take effect and the human will die at an adequate time depending on the disease.You will lose memory of the Death Note when losing its ownership. But you can regain this memory by either obtaining the ownership once again or by touching the Death Note. This can be done up to 6 times per Death Note. If the 6 times are exceeded, the person's memory of the Death Note will not return and they will have to use it without any previous memory of it.

When I was a kid I thought Light was a genius, now as an adult I'm constantly finding the simplest little things Light messed up on early on that if he had thought about for literally 2 seconds he'd have avoided: Like bringing a piece/the book itself to school with him and writing a name once in a while during class or googling criminals from all over the world so all the deaths aren't localized like you mentioned... I don't know why people are thinking he only killed in his country. Literally episode two there is an Interpol meeting because all the big name criminals WORLDWIDE all died of unexplained heart attacks. He even shows a clip from Episode 1 in this video showing MANY Western names alongside Japanese ones. Also he makes it sound like Light is living in some fictional hellscape where the police are ineffctual and there's a 95% crime rate filled with scum and debauchery... No... it's just Suburban Tokyo... It's no worse than any other capital in the world.

The plan to take out Misora is a bad one. One of Light's few advantages for a while was that L didn't know he could kill by other means than heart attack. L would find her death immediately suspicious, and the slightest investigation would show she showed up with info about Kira, and spoke with Light before leaving, and the one who killed her died as well. It would focus the investigation on Light and rob him of an advantage. The plan with using the fbi as puppets is better, but it would take some careful construction.

Lights biggest mistake was killing L. As long as L was alive, he had the ability to control the search for him by assisting L. By killing L he gave L’s research straight to his replacement, giving them a huge advantage over light. This is what eventually ends his rule.

I do agree that Light made alot of mistakes but your ideas simply wouldn't work in most cases. The receptionist couldn't kill Ray's wife because it's a rule that a persons who's name is in the deathnote can't kill someone who's name is not in the deathnote so the receptionist would just take her back and then die sometime in the future. Also your idea of puppet mastering is cool but it requires alot of predictive writing that is simply too much to predict. Fun to think about but the solutions of more convoluted uses of the deathnote aren't the key as Light is already using in about as complex a way as he can with human limitations

They thought he was Japanese because the deaths occurred during a time frame that a Japanese student would be awake and not in class. They determined the prefecture because the first deaths were local to light while he was testing it. You have to make it all happen at various times so it's not just when you would be awake locally.

Funfact: in the moment where Light's room has been bugged, there's a loophole that we can exploit which I've watched Cinema summary's Death Note video, Light can threaten to sue the police for bugging his room without his consent, since it's illegal to bug or spy on someone without evidence or consent, they'll be forced to let Light go

Light's main goal is to stay away from that suspect list and make it seem like he's unaware of the situation. Suing the police aka (L or police chief aka his father) is just totally pointless and puts him even higher on the suspect list. And also on the grand scheme of things suing the task force who's trying to find the most wanted serial killer is not ideal.

I've to say something before watching all the video and it's only my opinion... Light was already pretty egocentric and full of himself even before having the death note.. And considering only the anime he doesn't flinch that much.. He was already far behind... But his original opportunity was becoming an officier and try his best.. He only became "good" after loosing his memories i belive because his motivations where tied up With the note book.

Probably not, people tend to think that they're more intelligent than they actually are, and that they'd commit no mistakes in such scenarios. Light Yagami received a book capable of killing anyone, at any time, without any trace. I can't even imagine someone of super high intelligence or smarts actually doing every ideal action in these scenarios. That's as insane as saying that the author of Death Note is smarter than the characters, they simply had more time, and less pressure, something that makes it much simpler to spout out smart remarks.

I know Light is a genius and all, but I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't think of a way to utilize the death note to its fullest potential. For example, the fact that the death note allows the user to kill people with any method he wants is super overpowered and super underutilized in this anime, he could have used that rule to make the cause of death different for every few criminals. Also I wonder about the moral dilemma that Light has set, because some people that are criminally charged are wrongfully accused, so he would've killed a lot of innocent people.

The plan at 22:00 is impossible, the death note cannot be used to kill someone who is not written in the death note. You may write ‘John Smith pushes Mary Jane into traffic following a confrontation, before panicking and getting hit by a car himself’ and ‘Mary Jane is pushed and killed by oncoming traffic’ But you need to specify both.

22:25 there is a specific issue with this idea: The death note will only kill the person you specified. If other deaths were to occur directly due to the specified actions, the person would simply die of a heart attack. What Light could have done, however, is to have the receptionist ask for her name and then die somehow. There is probably some way you could write it without knowing the woman's name
