It sounds pretty good from a civilian outlook, military though, it's much different, first of you'd send one soldier inside to check it out and send another once the first is out of hearing range and keep a chain going like that and if the first soldier stops making noise you get everyone out and attach bayonets and sit and wait for some sign of life from the first soldier and if it doesn't come you board the bunker back up and mark it on whatever map you'd have access to

Why would they go to the German bunker in the first place? They could have just gone home since they were sure all the Germans were dead. OR they could have blasted the shit out of it and then gone home. Even if they did go, the trip-wire would be enough for me to retreat as I'd assume there were more booby traps IF I didn't refuse to go in once I knew it was sealed from the OUTSIDE>

Given the movie came out in 2022 and Amnesia: Bunker came out 2023, I'd say the game is inspired by the movie. I wouldn't say they're "almost identical". The only thing that's the same is the premise: location and an evil monster. To say it's almost identical is to say every horror game or movie is identical.

While hitting the bunker with more mortar shells is the safer option. They want to capture it. If it's destroyed by the overhead strikes then that defeats the purpose of their objective. That said, just having 4 guys wander around until they think it's okay or die is terrible. Assuming the Germans retreated, they could have still set up traps. You need people who know what they are doing going in there methodically.

Just a little thing, but asking the German "Do you speak English?" was dumb as he wouldn't KNOW to answer "no" if he doesn't. So his silence could signal either that he doesn't understand, that something is wrong with him where he CAN'T reply, or whether he WON'T reply. Considering the war had been going on for literal years at that point, I'm sure the English soldiers in the battle would know enough German to ask him "Sprechen Sie Englisch?" so at least they'd know whether the German was unable to understand them or for some reason NOT answering,

Sorry but I haven’t seen anyone else say it, but this is not the Eastern Front, the Eastern Front was between the Russian Empire and its Allie’s, and the Germans, Austria-Hungary etc, the Western Front is the one known for miles of trenches and the slog of no man’s land. The Eastern front was a lot more ‘active’ to say the least, but there was trenchworks as well.
