@@quiteslayer4067as a Catholic, I have many trinkets with crosses on them. Only one actual cross, but we have tons of popsicle sticks and tape. One of the trinkets, a bronze/copper wall thingy has residue from holy water that evaporated from it years ago. We also have pointy dowel.

eh it depends on which version of vampire this is. in some versions its the UV radiation in other versions its not the UV but the suns symbolic nature as the banisher of the dark that harms vampires.

My first thought would be its a vampire in the box since they can only travel long distances and over runnin water if they are in a coffin or box filled with the soil of their homeland. Isn't the reason for the dirt filled crate is to allow him to travel over running water? By being surrounded by earth completely, he technically isn't crossing over water as he's in the earth. Similar to walking over an unground stream you didn't know was there.

As a message to all the people saying “I’d definitely know it was a vampire I was dealing with from the first second,” no you wouldn’t, you’d be curious as to why you were moving a box of dirt.. and move on, you watch movies so you know what to expect, in IRL scenarios you don’t have that prior context… sit your asses down, and accept that you aren’t making it through that scenario without some insane luck.. so many of these “How to Beat” scenarios require having context beforehand which is basically impossible, otherwise you’re just going with the flow and praying you make it.. let’s face it, all the “stupid” decisions made in horror movies are made by scared people who’ve never had experiences like this before and are exhibiting natural fear responses of making irrational decisions… stop acting tough and accept the facts

That's a funny take considering Mark exists, he would have knows what he was dealing with. Also no, the majority of "dumb decisions" made in horror movies are so the plot can move on, for example, why didn't the family in A Quiet Place move near the waterfall if it fks with the aliens? So that the movie can happen. Cabin in the Woods deconstructs this trope as all the stupid decisions taken by the characters are set up through drugs and conditioning by Discount SCP Fundation.

Protip: If you know that the head vampire insists on sleeping in a locked coffin during the day, don't bother trying to unlock it with nightfall rapidly approaching. Simply locate the coffin during daylight hours, load it into a truck, and take it to the nearest crematorium to be disposed of.
