As a yubel player myself (been playing the deck competitively since before throne came out), I’ll speak on what I’ve found are the best ways to beat the deck in terms of the non-fiendsmith part. Your best bets are to deal with the phantom first, and if you’re able to clear their backrow like lightning storm/feather duster/cosmic/evenly it actually puts them in a rough spot. We have to go through multiple hoops to find damage and advantage if we lose access to nightmare pain and eternal favorite/throne are good cards to pop too. After that, non destructive removal on the yubel forms like S:P and super poly are good. As for hand traps (phantom can stop all of these but assuming no phantom): ash on throne, pain or lotus but generally not on beckoning beast or spirit gates, droll is iffy based on their hand, crow/bystial on squirmer or yama, and imperm/veiler on yama. Nib looks good because of how much they summon but is bad vs yubel because of phantom or varudras.

@@averylewis5623 you can super poly their board away but keep in mind that if throne is still up, they can float into terror incarnate since a yubel card left the field by a card effect. So try and get throne off the field before you super poly if you don’t want to leave them with an extra monster.

@@Adam0193Official Good tip. Seems like Phantom is probably the last thing most players would use, so it's probably easier said than done to bait it out to make S Poly live anyway, making S Poly not worth it.

Power filter is a solid choice, especially with more people running Gamma. Power filter shuts down Yubel entirely and prevents Gamma from activating. Another good siding card is Chain Disappearance.

Buster blade is a good counter. Won twice against yubel with it. As long as I don't brick its been a win for me every game. Of course pop the back row cause of pain the field spell

I have had pretty good success using a decent dark magician deck vs yubel decks. Only lost 1 game vs yubel while using my dark magician deck

droplet I like, because it can negate the whole board, unfortunately the fiendsmith cards play around it really well :( Storm I wouldn't really recommend since they have negates and it would just be a dead card

@@AtherGamingYGO actually yeah I guess youre right. They way i do the combo with just throne i would have a phantom up before i put squirmer in gy anyway. Phantom makes it hard to hand trap the deck in general. You need 2 or a way to bait the phantom
