Today I share my tips and tricks on how to become better at building coasters in planet coaster. So how do you build a good roller coaster in planet coaster? It takes a little bit of patients but in this video I show you how you can slightly speed up this process and build a good roller coaster within just an hour or 2. Planet Coaster has a pretty simple coaster builder but in this tutorial I will show you the best way to use it with or without mods. The smoothing tool mod is recommended but not required for this. For inverts your have to do - heartline. I forgot why but when your above the track it’s + heartline and then below the track it’s - heartline.

For inverts, cars are under the track, à 0g roll on an invert seems wicked

i disagree with your statement ("you don't need to use 4m"). If you are going for truly smooth coasters then 4m is the only option.Using longer pieces is not as effective unless you are building a hyper/giga/ want to get shaping then you can build in 8m but then downconvert to 4m.also yeah your banking offset was wrong and you shouldn't "always use 7" edit : and the fact you dont use 4m shows in the final result as even with smooth mod it is quite jittery edit 2 : oh also prebuilt elements are awful the shaping is really bad make your own

people are allowed to not use 4m lol. The method I use for smoothing uses 7ft. banking offset because again it's not the 4m method. And as yes I get you all keep pointing out the mistake of using + banking offset over - banking offset. But I still think it turned out good. and if you don't think so that's totally fine.

Like you said even without the track length at 1m or 4m it's fine. I've done a coaster with 50m and it was fine. nice video for the new people for PlanetCo

I doubt a coaster with 50 meter track pieces will be very realistic. Even for a giga that would lack a lot of subtleties in the shaping.

Smaller track pieces are weird in the pov so ya

If you smooth them correctly they look way better than longer pieces.

Sorry mate, I don't think you're quite enough of an expert to make a video on this topic. You seem to have a topical understanding, but you absolutely whiffed on your technical knowledge of coaster design and B&M realism. You got heartlining backwards, your support structures are all have at least one vertical axis, your element shaping could use some work, and B&M Inverts typically have lifthill angles around 30 degrees, even newer gens are 35 degrees tops. I think your words about 1m/4m stuff are also off-base. Everybody has their own standards of immersion and acceptable ride smoothness. Not everybody is willing to put in that effort, and that's fine, but the product speaks for itself in the end, and I wouldn't ride this coaster.

and that's fine. I don't feel 1m/4m is necessary. If you do that's up to you. I'm free to make this video if I want to. if you don't think so. That's fine. If you don't want to ride. That's fine. This video isn't meant to be for an "expert" as you say. I think the product turned out just fine and honestly that's all that matters.

@@JLWGames I never said you weren't free to make the video, I'm just pointing out that you are placing yourself in the position of instructor, when clearly you are the one who needs instruction. Misrepresenting yourself and your skillset is a surefire way to lose subscribers.

@@ViperThreat I mean all you had to do was say I think you suck at Planet Coaster. It would of been faster lol. If you don't like my build style it's 100% okay. I'm also gaining subs not losing them from this video just saying. You 2 are like the only out of hundreds that have an issue with it I guess. I do plan on potentially doing a 1m/4m video to at some point. I just want people to know it's not the only option out there.
