How to Become a Doctor in the UK from Pakistan

Hi IMGs! Lets talk about how to become a doctor in the UK. This is an overview of my PLAB journey from Pakistan. This is, in my opinion, the fastest and easiest way for a fresh graduate to start work in the UK. Do keep in mind there are some exceptions to the rules I discussed. Hope you found this helpful.

what if we opt for mrcp n not for plab...what are the pros n cons?

Ah great question. This one deserves a detailed response and I will hopefully make a video about that in the future. The biggest advantage of plab over mrcp is the exams are easier to clear and you start at the most junior level hence you have less responsibility and more time to adjust to the system. It can get overwhelming starting at a higher post however it then comes down to personal circumstances.

Great video! Sir do we need to take the ielts/oet if we already have an 'A' in English from O'levels. I heard sometimes there are exemptions.

You still have to take the IELTS even if you have an A in English O Levels.

What is an alternate path if we haven't perform house job from Pakistan ?

So generally speaking if you have done your house job from a country whose housejob the UK recognizes then the path is the same for you. There are other paths depending on if you are senior doctor.

No. But you can live on a work visa till you have obtained your ILR and subsequently your british passport after which you will be allowed to live in the uk indefinitely.
