How to become a Motorcycle Racer | James Dunne

Snap, I'm from dow South aswell so every track is a million miles away my closest track is brands at 2 hours and Oulton is 7 hours. Also ex army and just finished my 2nd year of club racing and just got my clubman licence and self funding is hard so total respect to James as I know how hard it is and sponsorship is very difficult to obtain to help towards a season of racing. Looking forward to next year racing with BEMSEE👍🏍🏁

i'd love to someday go and race motorcycles but in the island i live in we don't have any racing tracks in general, of chourse we do have one but it's out of use, it ain't open to the public at all... I guess i'll have to travel to the peninsula to drive on tracks

Best bet is to join a local racing Facebook group near to where you live and try and find the best way in your locality. In the UK, you would have to do an ACU licence and start some track days to build up your experience and as you progress, you can join a race series. Although at 14, it may be easier to start MX racing instead (like most young racers do) as some race series dont allow under 18's to race. Hope that helps, Aaron KNOX

@@KnoxArmour That is great news to me. I had the same concerns myself, not having been born into a wealthy family. If I could have gotten started at age 12, I would have. I'm just now trying to get my foot in the door, and only recently went to my first track day.

Well, I think James is saying that racing at that level is super expensive and a lot of people can't afford to do it from their own financing. James says he managed to convince some people to help him with gear and financing and that is how he manages. Thanks, Aaron.
