I think it was great hearing about the skills it takes to do his job as a music supervisor. It was also very helpful to hear his preferred method for finding new music for his projects (sync agencies). Thank you both!

Building relationships in the music industry can be complex, but it’s definitely achievable! Here are some steps to help you get started: Networking Events: Attend music industry conferences, workshops, and networking events. These gatherings are great places to meet industry professionals and other artists. Online Communities: Join online platforms and forums where music professionals connect. Websites like LinkedIn, SoundCloud, and even social media groups can be valuable for networking. Collaborate: Work with other artists, producers, and songwriters. Collaborations can lead to introductions to their networks. Internships/Volunteering: Consider internships at record labels, production companies, or music organizations. This can provide insight into the industry and help you meet influential people. Cold Outreach: Don’t hesitate to reach out to industry professionals directly. Craft a genuine message expressing your interest in their work and asking for advice or a meeting. Local Music Scene: Engage with your local music scene by attending shows and participating in community events. Being active in your area can lead to valuable connections. Follow Up: After making connections, follow up with a friendly message or invite them to your events. Building relationships takes time, so stay engaged. Getting into the right rooms often comes down to being proactive and showing genuine interest in the industry. What specific goals do you have in mind for your networking efforts?
