I have 2 master degrees. I was a teacher for 10 years and an education consultant for 5 years. I'm unemployed and taking the Google Project Management certificate for free. I'm interested in the PMP Certification.

This video came at the right time. I have two years of experience in the marketing field and am looking to transition to a Project Manager role. Additionally, I'm planning to pursue an MSc in Project Management. Since I'm not yet qualified for the PMP certification, I'm considering obtaining the CAPM certification. Currently, I lack the required 35 hours of education in project management and relevant work experience. Your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated and helpful!
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
Don’t worry about the 35 hours of education because you can get that from a prep class for the PMP. On the experience side, just keep in mind that any initiative with a scope, start date and end date is considered a project. You may actually meet the qualifications and not know it. I would be sure about that first before investing in a masters degree. I hope this helps!

You deserve your flowers Veronica. You’ve made it easy for me to identify the best route for me to transition to Project Management. I currently live in the UK and it’s been a bit difficult for me to identify a PM bootcamp. Kindly recommend any bootcamp in the UK. Thank you!!
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
Awe, thank you, I’m glad I could help! I don’t know any UK Bootcamp unfortunately but we do have a self paced course that might be a good fit if you don’t mind learning that way. It’s listed on our website if you want to check it out.

I love this. I first seen you in TITNB. I haven't seen much content on pmp coverage on this platform. Keep it coming! I just registered for my 36hour course to compliment my 60months for pmp really scavenging the internet to learn as much as possible before the class. Thank you for your content and insight!

I really love how you broke this down,I am a junior Architect based in Nigeria and i am passionate about becoming a certified project manager,but i have been confused about which programme to start with,i am very confident of passing the PMP exams with the right training but i just dont know where to start. its also crucial i pass the exams on first sitting because 500 dollars is alot of money for me,its approximately a million in my country,so i'm really in need of guidance on how to approach it and nail it.Your video was really helpful,i subscribed immediately after watching.Thank you.

I really thank you for this video. I'm doing the Google certif thinking that this would be enough but now I know what I really want and where to go. After the Google certif, I'm gonna go straightforward to CAPM.

Hey Veronica I love your videos . Thank you for educating me on PM. I’m currently taking the Google PM course certif and thought it could get me a job in the field but after watching your video I’m more enlightened. Please can you give me better information if I want to take the PMP courses and exams and how I can do that so I can get a good paying job in PM. Thank you

I’m studying now for my PMP but I feel like there is so much I don’t know and I have a bit of imposter syndrome. Your videos have been so helpful but it also made me realize that I still have a long way to go, but sometimes I feel disheartened wondering if I’ll ever get there.

Hi Veronica, thank you so much for this information and motivation. I have no experience in the field of project management and was trying to set up a consultation thru your link for May but I’m having an issue switching the months on the website. If you have any info or another link to make an appointment please let me know. Thanks again

For the past week or so, I've been in tune to your videos educating the masses in the area of project management. That's one of few areas I've been looking into. I was wondering if you could direct me to any positions that likely would not require a certification to get my foot in the door with hopes of the company investing in me getting certified. Any suggestions or recommendations you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
@anuconsulting7 ай бұрын
Project coordinator positions don’t require certification but they’re entry level so you’ll have to work your way over time like any other entry level role. The befit of that is that you get hands on experience!
@enticingteee5 ай бұрын
I have been trying to gain experience as a project coordinator Atleast but it’s hard getting a job nyc for that position. I have my CAPM and I have somewhat project assistant experience but that’s it. How can I break into the field of project management?
@Moisasolifestyle2 ай бұрын
I am currently taking the Google PM certificate course then plan on taking the CAPM and eventually take the PMP course. The goal is get into a PM role with my current employer. The goal is to eventually move into sales, do you think this is a good strategy?

Hey Veronica, I appreciate the video, and thank you for the value! I have a pressing question regarding the current job market being very competitive the past 2 years. Can you please speak to the amount of opportunity currently in 2024 for PM roles, once you obtain PMP Certification - honesty and realistically, in this market should we still expect to compete at the same level of other positions in Tech that are currently being laid off? There are Engineers and individuals in Cyber Security that have plenty certifications, degrees and work experience and they're having a very hard time getting and keeping a job. Once we get the PMP Certification, are we still facing the same uphill battle as everyone else? Thanks!
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
100000% dependent on the field. For example, major tech companies do layoffs when the market shifts. I work in HealthTech, so it’s different because even though I’m in the tech field I don’t work for a tech company. I’m in a specific area of tech. If you can niche down instead of being a generalist, you’re always going to be more marketable and more likely to hang onto your role.
@Gordon.Collins8 ай бұрын
@anuconsulting I appreciate the feedback. Lastly, someone with a PMP Certification breaking into HealthTech, should they expect to experience the same level of competition as traditional tech companies when breaking in? Long story short, is the barrier to entry "significantly" less competitive with a PMP Cert in HealthTech when breaking in? Or is it the same/similar level of competition as traditional tech companies? Thanks!
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
Having the PMP is going to put you ahead of other candidates for project management roles. This market is competitive across the board, but if you’re asking if the PMP is a differentiator when it comes to getting a job, the answer is yes.

Thank you for this! I have been in the Administrative/Coordinator industry for a little over 10 years and want to pivot into a career change over to PM. I am currently doing the google project management cert then after that thinking to jump into getting my CAPM. I do have a question though... After I get my CAPM, can I go straight to PMP?
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
You’re very welcome ☺️ if you can qualify for the PMP, I would say just skip the CAPM all together. It’s by far going to help you the most in getting into a project management role.
@Aderpay8 ай бұрын
@anuconsulting thanks! How do I qualify for PMP without taking CAPM?
@anuconsulting8 ай бұрын
@Aderpay you don’t have to take the CAPM, just look at the PMP qualifications and make sure that you meet them. Then you can move forward with the process. 🤗
