Hi Mayanthi I am thinking of becoming a school counsellor in Australia but I do not have any psychology or education background. I have a bachelors degree in science however I was thinking of doing a masters in psychology and education. I am not sure if I can do both a masters of psychology and education at the same time though as I have researched and can't seem to find a hybrid masters like that. I am not sure if I can do a masters in psychology as I haven't completed a bachelor's in psychology so I was thinking of possibly doing a masters in education while also doing a diploma in counselling online. Would this be enough to find positions within a public school as a school counsellor? Thank you.

Are the school counselors in Australia are registered Guidance Counselors too? I wonder how it works..

Here in Philippines, they are called "Guidance Counselors". You have to take Masteral Degree in Guidance and Counseling and take a board exam for Guidance Counselors. However, salary grade here is lower than teachers' SG level entry.

Oh that’s very interesting. We don’t necessarily have Guidance Counsellors here in Australia, sounds like Philippines have a similar system to America ☺️
