Kante, as he has been consistently performing at the top level for both Chelsea and the French National team. In comparison to his time at Leicester, he has evolved into a more "complete" midfielder and is now both defensively and offensively stable. Although I love the playing style of Frenkie de Jong, Kante would be my answer. Nice question though! Made me think for a bit.

@@12yards. Great reply! I second that and Kanté also has the accolades and trophies to show for his consistency. His evolution in the attacking aspect of his game can be seen in his goal vs Liverpool this season, as he moved like an attacking midfielder and finished like a striker. What is great about De Jong is that he is 22 and has the time to look at players like Kanté as points of reference for growth and development. Great video!

Honestly, I think your comment is actually better than mine!😁 Kante's off-the-ball movement has been improving fixture after fixture and he has been contributing in the offensive third as well for Chelsea. De Jong definitely needs (and deserves) more game time but since age is on his side, I think he will develop into an elite player in a couple of years.
