My family and I were friends with the Palmieri's in Jacksonville, Florida. He's a great guy and a hard worker, from what I remember.

What an awesome video thank you for the upload. However I would definitely recommend going the Kinesiology route for undergraduate with a better understanding of the physiology of the human body and how the body works.

Jon, Thanks for this interview, I really appreciate it. As a first-year undergraduate studying to enter the exercise and sports performance field, this is extremely valuable information. Heard a lot of what I'm planning for now, and also heard some new things that I will take with me. Inspiration. - Kyle, University of New England, ME

Hey Johnathan, I just watch this video and it was very useful. Thank you for getting the interview and providing this information to us trying to pursue Strength and Conditioning profession. I have two questions. One, I'm a Junior at a private university in Kerrville, Texas about to be a senior graduating with a BS in Exercise Science in General Health. Now would I be able to still get into the school programs and teach if I just get a teachers certification and also have the CSCS certification too? And two, coming out of a small private university and wanting to go get my masters, what do you suggest I get my masters if I want to pursue Strength and Conditioning profession? I'm 25 years old and will be finishing my sophomore year of college in December. I'm currently a Business Management major but I've always had the desire and passion to become a Strength and Conditioning coach. Is it too late to become one? Will my age hinder my opportunities? Thanks!
@DomenBremec9 жыл бұрын
+Ryan Chacanias It won't. I do study Kinesiology but just like that - if that's something you want, what stands in your way? Do it, rather than regret it for the rest of your life.

+Domen Bremec Thanks man. Is it still possible to get your CSCS even if you majored in something non-exercise science related?
@sweetg12345610 жыл бұрын
If one has a degree that is not in an exercise science-related field (ie philosophy in my case) would it be possible to learn through certifications and volunteering at the high school level (possibly teaching at a high school and volunteering with the football team) and either get a full-time position at a high school or even find your way as an assistant at the college level? The CSCS cert prerequisites say one needs a bachelor's degree but does not specify the type of degree needed. Thanks in advance!

I would disagree with Mr.Palmieri I have Professors who graduated with a degree in Ex science that are amazing teachers. I think Ex science is more beneficial degree vs PE degree because i have had PE teachers in high school that have no clue in basics of exercise.

@TopCheddarSnip8 жыл бұрын
Correct me if im wrong but don't most PE programs have exercise physiology courses along with applied anatomy? I feel as if you'd probably learn everything you need to know as a strength and conditioning coach in a PE program. The benefit to taking this program is that you have more opportunity for employment, as a PE you can also acquire your CSEP if you wish. I am currently taking fitness and health promotion diploma program which gives me many certificates including fitness class instructional, canfitpro basic personal training (same as ACE but in canada), as well as a basic nutrition certificate, and your strength and conditioning cert. WITH THAT, I can also get a bridged program in PE so i only need to take 2 years of university to acquire a degree in PE. With that I could easily work wherever in the industry.

The Giants have led the league in injuries the past two years and it hasn't been particularly close. I wish they would fire Jerry Palmieri. Whatever he is doing is not helping this team be strong and conditioned which is only his job title...
