I've always had such respect for people who can design. I've tried to wing a few basic shapes and math definitely comes into play. I really enjoyed this video even though i don't want to design but knowing about the process and time it takes for people to design something out of their imagination just makes me more grateful for their talents. A lot of my friends refuse to buy patterns but honestly, so much work goes into the design that it's worth it, to me, to support artists who work so hard. Sidenote, you should totally embrace the alien bear and just go ahead and design an alien, green yarn and all 🙂

Thank you so very much!! And I have never even thought about just going with the alien!!! Lol! Thank you for that idea! 💚

I agree. I like FREE stuff, for sure. But a well-written pattern is worth the small price we pay for a designer’s efforts. I’m grateful for those people with creative brains who share their talents with us in the form of a pattern. Blessings!

@@nryane I’m always happy to buy a pattern, I’m a artist myself and I think patterns are just as much a work of art as a painting. It’s just directions for making the art. I don’t have a lot of money but I love supporting other artists when I can.

Another enjoyable video - even though I have no interest in designing a pattern! I do have a question, though. Do you have to do something special to copyright your designs or are they automatically protected?
@EliseRoseCrochet Жыл бұрын
You need to state they are copyrighted in words. You can go through a more formal process for copyrighting something, but I don't think it would be feasible for small things like patterns. But I'm not an expert on all the legalities! ❤️
