I am 75 and have been working out for 62 years. I have pretty serious shoulder issues now that just started a couple of years ago. I have had a good run 😁! I am posting because I have switched to a similar routine. Mine is doing 10-8-6 one wo then 12-10-8 next wo and last 15-12-10 then repeat the cycle. Hope that helps any one having shoulder problems. Lifting heavy for me is a thing of the past so I am compensating to maintain. GL.

Always helpful, always insightful. For as jacked as my former trainer was, he never had us do barbell bench. I later found out (after firing him) that was bc he over bro’d it and wound up injuring his shoulder on BB Bench. Smh. Thanks as always. Look forward to mass gains on the bench

So John Meadows (may he rest in peace) suggests 3 warm up sets and 2 hard sets of 8. If going for strength do one rep per set as you get up to your max and then you have the energy to push up with maximum muscle fiber activation for maximum growth. I am 52 and I can say I have been gaining 5 lbs bench press for the last 8 weeks (180) today by just doing 40-50 empty bar to get muscle activation then 3 reps at 135 1 rep at 155 1 rep at 175 then pushing to the 180 I did today. I then go down by 10 lbs 1 rep till I bet back to 135 do 5 reps then empty bar for another 50 reps. 4-5 minute breaks in between. Everybody grows different so this in anecdotal for me but so far so good. Also i bench 2x a week (noob gains in gym 8 months) had not been in a gym for 25 years previous.

it depends natural caffeine like in coffee and some teas is better for exercise but pre workout usually has more caffeine and a lot of them have natural caffeine, which should be taken ~30 minutes beforehand

Elite lifters hyperarch their backs at bench so their lift path is different that regular lifting with a slight arch in the back.

Gyms are still not open here where I am in Ireland , what are the best exercises to do to build muscle at home
@dylanwestbrooks40144 жыл бұрын
Honestly it depends on what you are training whether it’s full body or certain muscle groups.. do you want to get muscle growth and a workout or improve your endurance.
@dylanwestbrooks40144 жыл бұрын
Mic Derin Every day for a month and I promise you will feel very strong in your arms chest abs and legs. 30 squats 30 push-ups 1 minute flutter kicks 30 second rest 1 minute plank flat back as possible 20 burpees with squat and jump 20 sit-ups 1 minute flutter kicks This should take 7-10 minutes my time for this is 8:15 And you should try to beat this
@mic_derin4 жыл бұрын
Dylan westbrooks what about arms and shoulders?
@dylanwestbrooks40144 жыл бұрын
Mic Derin instead of just push-ups.. hand release push-ups with both arms fully extended out and squeezing the shoulder blades together will definitely burn your shoulders out and that’s a promise

One thing that I’ve noticed that makes benching so much harder for me is that I go all the way up on reps and completely lock my elbows out. I noticed that you and everybody else that’s good at benching do NOT do that so I’m prob not gonna either lol
