I use stainless steel plates 0.5mm thick, and 150mm wide.

Stapleton Guitars: I like the simple design you came up with.Was a thermometer of some sort not necessary or was the temperature control on the blanket sufficient? Did heat up take about 15 minutes before bending?

The whole process of bending one side takes around eight minutes or so, and you need to cool it down after to avoid the spring back effect. The temperature control on the blanket is sufficient enough to rely on it.
