How to bend brake lines with a pulley

I cut the spring off an old toilet auger to make a brake line bender. I just insert the brake line into the spring and bend it. Works perfectly! Also,I use 2 spark plug sockets of different sizes clamped in a vise to bend the lines. Contrary to most round sockets,these have a square base for clamping.

Just bending by hand works for me. Or around a piece of pipe or tool handle. I do have a brake line bending tool from Eastwood. It does better sitting in the box it came in.

My problem is bending the very end of the line with the nut already attached. How do you bend without messing up the threads on nut?
