Hi Whitney. I am over 50 with more years of being born again. I did not know about bible journaling until I enrolled with one of the international Bible school. I learned about journaling last week and your video gave more insight into journaling. I started practicing it and amazingly for the first time, I feel my faith being uplifted in the Word. Your video answered rest of my questions about journaling. I love it!

Hey Whitney, just found your channel today. I searched "how to pray" and found a video of yours that brought me here. My parents are both Catholics but I wasnt really "raised" Christian myself. They both stopped going to church when I was young and I had no interest in any of this. Fast forward to my 20s and I had tried to accept Jesus into my life multiple times but never stuck with it. I have trouble being around people bc I feel uncomfortable so these days I keep to myself for the most part. But back to what I was saying, I've always found difficulty in kneeling down and praying for some reason. It's not a pride thing, but more that I'm uncomfortable doing something out of the ordinary. Praying out loud is hard for me to do consistently and thinking it to myself feels kind of phony too as well. Not to mention that my mind tends to wander, so that doesnt help with the silent prayer approach either. Reason I say all of this is bc the whole "prayer journal" idea seems like a really good idea/solution for me. I've found temporary comfort in writing letters to people but theres something about doing so that makes me feel insane to be honest. I'll spare you the details, but I'm sure you can see why I think the idea of a prayer journal seems more fulfilling and promising, especially from a consistency stand point. So yeah, just wanted to say thanks for sharing this and that I'm going to give it a try shortly. I'm 30 years old now, and I'm hoping I can finally let Jesus into my life completely and that he'll help me navigate the chaos in my head that I refer to as a brain haha (just poking fun at myself). I subbed and rang the bell so I'm looking forward to seeing your videos in the future. Thanks again and take care

I journalize in a notebook too, I track the moon cycle from a moon chart (the moon changes phases every seven days an there are four phases which is 28 days or about one month), I write down my daily schedule, and every day I listen to a different book through audio starting with Genesis an ending with revelation, then i also write in every page Bible verses starting with the minor prophets an ending with Paul's letters. So I end up listening through audio the old an new testament about every 28 days..an there are also the seven heavenly virtues that I work on every week..also the Sabbath day is every seventh day..

This is so good! Thank you! Love the idea listening to the Lord and writing it down! I have never done it! I will absolutely try this! I am curious if you have a plan that you are reading or do you just chose any passage you want? Is it a longer or a shorter one or does it just depend on a day?
@WhitneyMeade
@WhitneyMeade 5 жыл бұрын
The Productive Mommy thank you so much!! That’s a great question! It all depends. There have been seasons where I’ve gone through a reading plan or read along with a devotional. I love Jesus Calling and Sparkling Gems of the Greek! Other times, I’ll feel like I need wisdom, so I go straight to Proverbs. Or I want to praise or just soak in the Lord, so I go to the Psalms. Or, I want to read about Jesus, so I go to the gospels! It’s very fluid for me and I’m not rigid in my quiet times. I just listen for what the Holy Spirit is leading me to that day... and then go for it! I always read until I feel a spark in my spirit, and then I meditate on the passage that made it spark!

I appreciate your encouragement, though I'm 30 years older than your initial greeting. I have tried journaling in the past, which as a man I don't get much confirmation that other men are doing it. My experience has been like my driving in heavy traffic: start, stop, start, stop, park...forget where I parked, etc. Do you find that writing, versus typing on the computer, is easier? Taking into account that I'm a mom to a baby and a toddler and I don't wake up before they do, so since the morning they are with me, but in the afternoon when my husband arrives I do have time just for me, do you think the afternoon would be fine, or do you think it must be the mornings?? Hi there! Thanks so much for watching! It's super tough to find alone time with little ones underfoot, isn't it? I used to put my kids in front of the TV for about 20-30 minutes in the morning so that I could go in another room to do my quiet time. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you've gotta do!! Hope this helps :) (It definitely does not have to be in the morning, but I like to do it in the AM because it gets my head and my heart right for the day!)

I have a friend of 30 years now with a strong faith. A few years ago he was in church, and told the congregation that the Lord spoke to him. He was physically grabbed by two men from the congregation and escorted roughly out of the church where the police were waiting to pick him up. After they took him for questioning, he was then taken to the phyc ward at the hospital where they wanted to drug him up as they thought he was crazy. Just nasty if you ask me. The whole ordeal. Disgraceful behaviour from a huge congregation of Christians.
