This is so cool, thank you! If I may, a suggestion for a future video. I'd love to see a wee tutorial on knitting fair isle with three or even four colors per round. That would be awesome!

Thanks Davina! This is so helpful especially the seed stitch cast off cause that confused me every time, I kept thinking ribbing which is knit the knits and purl the purls! LOL! My brain.... oh well! LOL!

I noticed you move the yarn back each time before you slip the stitch over. Is that what you would do if you were casting off a row of purl stitches, also?

Have you got a video on how you see the squares together? And please can you do a vid on knitting using two different colour wool if possible please. I’m self taught and watched loads of your vids and can’t find anything like what I’m after and everyone else is so much more confusing then you xxxx

Thank you for such an easy-to-follow video. Technically, I already know how to bind off in pattern. However, tonight I'm finding it difficult to bind off while working in Seed Stitch, specifically after I do the Purl stitch. I wasn't sure why, so I looked for a tutorial; and you cleared it up for me. I saw that when you just did a Purl stitch, you did not immediately bind off. You first moved the working yarn through the needles, getting it into position to do the next stitch, a Knit stitch. Once I did that simple change, it was very easy to do the bind off. Thanks so much. :)

Oh gods. I'm doing it wrong all this time... XD instead of following the row to cast off in stitching, I use regular cast off instead. XD Thanks for the video!

That’s not wrong! it’s your knitting, you can do what you want with it. Sometimes I specifically want that look - but there is something pleasing about casting off in pattern. Totally depends on your project ☺️

Would there be specific instructions for binding off a Double Woven Rib? I’ve been going through each different beginner’s knitting style and am ready to cast off. It was easy enough with the first four or so patterns… the DWR stitch however seems daunting!

Double woven rib is actually dead easy! It just looks intimidating. For the bind off I would do a regular bind off, knitting across the stitches to bind off. Good luck!

Just a question on stretchiness of this cast off. Do you find it to have the spring of the normal knitting area better this way? It does look much nicer.
@sheepandstitch5 жыл бұрын
I think it has the same level of stretchiness as a regular bind off

How do you bind off 2 stitches in the middle of a row when knitting gloves & bind on 2 stitches in the same place on the following row?
@namelia44395 жыл бұрын
Ok, so I made a cup cozy where I did a 2 row single rib (just 2 rows of *K1,P1...I was just kinda trying out my own “pattern” for a cup cozy) around both the bottom and top. After watching this video, I’m confused as to whether I should cast off as if it was ribbing (which is what it looks like) or as if it were seed stitch (which is a little similar to what I did in that I just knitted 1 knit and 1 purl all the way around instead of 2 of each, but like ribbing)...assuming my question even makes sense to you, what’s the best way to cast off? I need HELP, PLEASE!!!!!!🤪
@elmondo-s1e4 жыл бұрын
I mean it’s a cup cozy right? Test it!? I know this is months later but... You can easily try it both ways and decide which you like best cause unravelling one row until you get it how you like it is no big deal 🤷♀️
