Thank you very much for going into all the varieties of explanation! I have knit a winter hat for my partner, and I am to the point that I need to begin to decrease. This hat has gone very well so far, I'd like for it to finish that way, too. This was a good reminder of even decrease and binding. I would really like for him to be happy and look good wearing it this winter!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I didn't know there were two ways to bind off. I'm back knitting after about 30 years and just finished a cowl on circular needles which I used for the very first time. Also learned the Magic Knot. I know there will be much more learning. So happy to be knitting again.

Thanks for the demo on the super stretchy bind off. I did not know about this and I just used it on my cowl. Not only is it stretchy but it also has a better look(in my opinion). I am saving this video for next time.

When I bind off in the round, I use a double pointed needle in the same size as my circular needle. That eliminates some or the annoying clinking and clacking the cord makes against the table. My way is less frustrating .

I started doing a hat just for fun while I had COVID, and did the standart bind of, thinking that it would be nicely snug. And it was the width of my wrist 🥺 on my way to remake it

Do the 2 knit stitches count as 2 in the bind off count or just 1? My pattern calls for a specific number to bind off the neck before I work the left and right arms. So if it calls for bind off 27, do the knit 2 and slip back over count as 1 or 2 bind off stitches?

Need some help! Used the stretchy bind-off for a cowl but it turned out TOO loose. 😢 Is there anything I can do to fix it without tearing it apart? (Not experienced enough and do not trust myself to undo it without messing it up. 😢)

Will this work for your standard beanie hats? after you bound off would you just run the end of the thread through all the stitches to tighten them up and then sew it into the hat? I would love to find a way to close up my hats without using dpns. I lilke using the sixteen inch needle to sew the hat its just the closing that drives me crazy.

I should have watched this video FIRST before I totally ruined my project. Im new at this, and did my first item in the round. A snood or cowl thing with a very fuzzy crazy yarn. I started the bindoff and realized the thing would be so tight it would be the size of my wrist. It also...well...looks like a cape instead of a drapey neck thing. *sigh* I bound it off totally wrong and can't undo it because this yarn makes it impossible. Expensive live and learn :(
