its like that because u have that black pigment in your hair already so if u colored it over it will definitely be orange, and your roots are really light because thats most likely the new grow out of your natural hair, i would reccomend to bleach only the orange section of the hair, if its still healthy enought to bleach, then get the purple toner to tone out everything, i hope this helps!

cosmoprof, you have to be licensed to purchase it, but u can buy any other brand from sallys beauty supply, the blue based ones work good if u want it less yellow/orangey.

When you use toner to take orange away you use blue.. (look at the color wheel and whatever color your hair turned out look directly across and thats the color you need to use for toner) she left the toner on to long.. alot of people do and it turns it blue.. they need to read the directions more carefully

Thanks, I have a wide tooth comb but i rarely reach for it, i know its better to comb through, but preference for my hair i prefer a brush, its just faster & easier for me.

When you bleach your hair get a Toner dye or a Toner shampoo. When I bleached my hair I had to use a toner shampoo for about a couple months to keep it from turning yellow. Then my mom got me a toner dye and it turned my hair kind of a light brown almost to a dark blonde. Toner works!!

it depends, but I feel like its not strong enough to counteract the yellow/orange tones. I suggest toning the hair :)

I've got a question. I've lost a bet with a friend of mine where if a local football club would become champion this year, I'd have to dye my hair blonde. Your hair is quite long and dark, but I'm a guy with middle brown hair which is about 4 inches long and my hairdresser told me it was quite porous. She didn't want to bleach it though, and told me i could do it myself but it could come out orange or green. Now I don't care about dying it, but as long as it'll come out right so (to be cont.)

well please answer me My hair is originally black. I have 3 times bleaching and my hair stop at the yellow/lemon/golden(don't know what to call) since the second time. I wanna have my hair lighter blonde or almost white blonde... what can I do more? keep bleaching until it'd be light as I want? or It never go lighter than this with normal bleaching?? thanks for advicing

It is very straight-forward and your way of making a foil "cap" protecting your hair not to strip is a good method for me, but I will be trying to make a triangle cap, a pyramid shape, I guess. My bangs are cut far back in a tri. thanks so much. I just want to foil-streak...can you tell me how much bleach to use to make a small amount? like would 2 TBS mix with how much 40 creme? I have L'Oreal Quick Blue from Sally's, and it gives ratio for full pkg only. I am sure I can guess, until the consistency seems right?

I was wanting to do this to the front of my hair and I stumbled across your video. great job. I have natural black hair 2 shades from the darkest on the color wheel. IT had been a long time since I have had my natural color, it is dark auburn and golden blonde highlights. I was hoping the highlights would help blend my gray but it didn't. do I figured if I did this to my bangs it would help it blend. i am actually doing the process of bleaching my bangs . i have alot more bangs than you do. i used splat , its bleach . then i used revlon blonde color after i bleached . my original hair color is dirty blonde , but i've been dying it black for a year now . well now my bangs are blonde at the top but orange through out . i was thinking about getting a purple toner?

you need to use a blue based toner on the orange part. blue is opposite orange on the color wheel, so thats what you would use. i wouldnt go and bleach it again because you dont want to cause more damage if you dont have to.

color remover. or you can use baking soda and water and mix it with a little shampoo to clarify the hair. its safe! try it!

if its porous , i wouldnt reccomend it, esp hearing it from a hairdresser, because by bleaching it, your hair would cause breakage or fall off, because the bleach is too strong, coloring wont be as harsh, but u will not get to the lightest blonde, i reccomend using a ash based blonde color into your hair, so it can correct as much orange as it can, the color will still be warm but it wouldnt be as light platnium blonde! i hope this helps :)

Thanks! I'm always looking for ways to get my black hair to pale yellow/platinum blonde the fastest yet least damaging. Just wondering, you mentioned you were trying your wella developer for the first time versus the gel. Which did you like better? Or were they about the same? I always get the salon care brand developer, and I've only seen differences relative to whether it's 20, 30, or 40 vol. Thanks again!

hi! im actualy uploading a new video today! i would recommend purchasing the blondeme bleach by Schwarzkopf, it develops sooooo fast! and you will get to the pale yellow platinum shade a lot faster in one application! The other bleachs ive used takes about 2 times to get light. this video was made about 3 years ago, so from that time ive found better more efficient bleaches! also the Schwarzkopf is a cream developer. the bleach is so smooth that it goes on the hair a lot faster and its easier to work with! so about your question, whether its a gel or cream developer, it doesn't really matter. but using the same brand as the bleach is always the best and more effective way! i hope this helped!

Thank you! I went to a salon to bleach my hair for the very first time and they left a weird full inch and a half of my hair unbleached, so my pink hair has black roots! (it was just the bottom half, so I didn't realise until I got home.) So now I've got a box of bleach and a bunch of coloured dyes to go nuts with, and your video really helped. :)

im glad it helped! usally at the salon when they bleach hair they should have done it half inch away from the scalp because as it processes the bleach expands and it should have filled the roots. I think the salon you went to probably wanted to avoid burning your scalp from getting blisters. thanks for watching! :))

purple shampoo will take that yellow tone out. just shampoo with once..rinse..use again but leave it on for 5 min. Also when applying the bleach, to avoid a harsh line when you're applying against the scalp, use the foil comb to gently comb the bleach against your scalp and it will help blend the bleach for a softer line. It also helps avoid bleeding spots!! :)

You always need to use developer when bleaching or toning your hair. It is a chemical reaction. The bleach powder doesn't work without the developer. It is usually a 1:1 ratio- equal parts developer and bleach mixed together. The solution should be good for up to three hours after being mixed.

To minimize the damage you can add morracian oil or arogon oils, or any type of oil to the bleach. It conditions it. Also u can use a lower volume developer. You can also get a protein treatment spray to reconstruct the hair , (you do this process while washing your hair & spraying it to the bleached hair)

They say not to blow dry bleached hair because its really bad for it and can dry it out, bleaching it drys it out bad enough, but your right not to drag your towl roughly on it though because it will break off. I have learned from my mistakes D:
