I'm confused. Physics dictates that removing ALL the air will lock the shock; oil doesn't compress, so it will be unable to accomodate the shaft when the schock compresses? Aren't these supposed to be "emulsion shocks"? Otherwise you'll need a bladder inside the body?

@SoleSur5er indeed some shocks do use bladders, especially in 8th scale. As for your other questions, I'm no qualified or smart enough to answer them. I rarely know how the sausage is made. I just know how to cook it.
