I’ve been getting asked to play rugby because of my height and because I’m South African 😂 and when I finally said “fine” they put me as a blindside flanker and you helped me understand how to play, thanks bro

I play number 7 and it's right at the heart of the game. Good fun and very physical! I'm 6'5 and I get thrown in to try and draw 2 or 3 players into a tackle whilst ball carrying so use your size to your advantage and get players to come to you and open that line up. Hey man I’m in the US going to try out for my local rugby club on Tuesday never played just did wrestling and American football all my life but I played inside and outside linebacker in football so I luv contact lol. I talked to one of the guys and I told him I’m a big guy(but fat now than before) and I’m 5’8 but still quick he said I might play flanker. Will my height have an impact or would it not matter since I love contact?

Not sure if im late here, but your height shouldnt matter at all really. If your coach for whaterver reason does think that it is an issue, hooker might be a good option

@@mattiasdahlstrom2024 I had a doctor appt 3 days before that showed I have a problem near my spine so I had to go to physical therapy for it. Long story short physical contact might damage my spine really unfortunate as I just got into the sport of rugby but I keep up with the teams I like and I’m watching the World Cup currently. All love for the islanders and South Africa team 👍🏾
