How to block the YouTube comment bots

According to a commenter (@adamblack8279), the way the bots have been evading detection is through an invisible unicode character that reverses what they've typed (make "hello" look like "olleh"), but when it's commented it displays regularly. The blocklist provided in the description does include this unicode character, so it should detect them as well.

As a commenter, I have a lot of these bots replying to my comments. It's sad that KZbin is doing nothing about it even though it's their responsibility, and now we have to take matters into our own hands in order to stop this.

i have two or three? maybe more? comments with a lot of replies, but i also comment a lot (i just do comments and community posts.) but..i have seen comments with those replies

Penguinz0 said that he used all of these filters, blocked phrases, and all sorts of stuff and they still go through. Also, most bots use a language thing where if translated gives an awful English message. I don't like how there's this rude like feeling when you say it takes a bit of work. Again, they tried very hard but still there are the same spambots. In fact I see new ones everyday

@@varietychan sorry if I sounded critical in my video towards other creators; I respect their efforts, but from my understanding, the bots are able to bypass filters using a unicode symbol, which if you modify your list to include it, it will block them successfully. Additionally, while not as efficient, at least blocking comments completely for certain accounts can fix the issue (the bots couldn't bypass that). I do think that the creators who are having these issues and making videos on it should do their research and try everything using the tools they've been given, and I wanted to highlight some ways to do so in my video. Hopefully my video helps the fight against these bots but if all of my mentioned methods somehow fail, then I'll research further myself and upload the better methods

Thx. It's really gotten out of control. Every single comment section is filled with porn bots and Russian bots. I noticed a huge uptick since 2020, maybe even as far back as 2016. I will implement some of these steps.

I'm just a regular YT watcher , thankfully I haven't seen the sick comments like the one above, but the site is infested with bots , frequently with an icon of a women's bum or knickers , making anodyne comments or fake conversation about eg: crypto etc , immediately a video is posted. It puts me off making a comment myself when the first 4 posts are obviously by bots. Can YT really do nothing to stop them?

Never seen these type of comments before either, however plenty of "0nlYFans" bot comments with random links. KZbin has never cared about it's platform or transparency though, as users we should have been abandoned the site and its monopoly on entertainment.

II deal with cybersecurity (to use a pop culture work), your advice might be helpful. This keywords, lists, etc is the same they use. Ultimately up to yt, but instead of allowing awareness they are actively removing them from search results. They act quickly indeed which is revealing since those are pretty much the only to channels you can find who have mentioned it, I suppose having millions of subs helps... so for all the effort you have done, I do not know how long your vid will be visible (since find it was hard enough). Look to be honest this comment intended to help will likewise be likely removed all the same even though I am a verified premium user who have been subscribed since 2011. I can go into detail in how this whole think works by just giving basic information that is ethical but they REALLY do not like that... any rate... those channels who also have discord are the most likely to be affected compared other channels on par with subs/rank/views/reputation/etc. Whether this comment will be removed or not, I do not know, but I keep record in case and if so this serves as a note to self... even if they do not remove it they can use VF (viability filters) [or the pop-culture name 'shadow banning'] and only I will see it... I will be surprised if this slips through the cracks and the only way I will know is if there is any interaction on this comment (using this platform).

@@xXstevilleXx your comment made it through thankfully. Yeah it's sad that KZbin's removing awareness about it; guess they want to cover up this whole mess to try and preserve their good PR look. Not great when there's a massive public callout and backlash to KZbin for their laziness. Whatever happens to this video though, I wanted to share my method to prevent the bots yourself for creators who are fed up with it, and I did. If the video is suppressed I'm sure word will continue to spread across this platform and others. Best I can wish for

I really do appreciate the reply, and because of area of work, field of expertise, I would not normally search as many who have a different vocation and that also means I have other means to gather intelligence (still ethical but different) or interact with others who already did. I am glad you shared your method since IT IS a useful way to to mitigate this problem, so it was not to be undermine it at all, simply to state how they use the same lists, and for that matter they use the same methods and tools people like me use but instead to wreck havoc. I don't think they will suspend vid, but they may for a time limit the reach thereof, see, it is more to do with they kind of comments as you addressed and them not having control over this is not just embarrassing but FAR worse, so you need to look at it from that point of view. Also understand that what I mentioned in terms of who is more or less likely to get these sick comments... it is a major concern. They know this very well.

There was a list of obscene words for discord automod that I just converted new lines to commas. (in vscode you find and replace [ ] with a comma you can bulk import banned words via comma separated list. I banned about 400 words I didn't want in my channel.
