Thank you Robyn this has been really helpful. I use both dyes and lakes. I have recently started blooming my dyes and my bath bombs are so vibrant.

Early on, I spray painted my faded bath bombs. Beats throwing out a batch.

Definitely! And sometimes I’ll still paint over a bath bomb if I know it’s going to fade!

Hi! Thanks for this video. I've seen this done using corn starch, too. Is it better to use baking soda?

You bloom your basking soda because it makes up over half the bath bomb recipe and will carry the most color!

Hi! If the recipe calls for both corn starch and baking soda then will the corn starch dull the color? Could I just cut the corn starch by upping the other ingredients?

Hi Robyn!!! LOVE your videos. Thank you - content is SO helpful. Question - I use about 17g of poly 80 in my recipe (about 960g sod. bicar., for a 1420g total dry ingredients - including 4g lake) ... do you think I should be using more?! I don't wanna be that BB maker that f**ks up other peoples tubs. No thanks!! LOL (I've tested my bombs in my tubs... but you never know!) Just want to make sure. Thanks so much Robyn! 💚💜💙

Generally we suggest using Poly 80 at half the amount of your oils (including your EO/FO) rather than basing it off your dry ingredients. But as long as you have Poly 80 In there, it’s highly unlikely that you’ll mess someone’s tub up… red 27/28 are the most likely to be naughty though so it never hurts to add a little more for them 😉
