Father has a '93? Elan 50th Anniversary Edition 250 Single-Lunger... Love that machine. 1 finger to lift the tail. When it somehow gets stuck, you can pickup the whole dang thing and just move it over 3ft to the left and go. That Guilty Pleasure of a Sled dragged my '97 SX 700 with frozen/locked-up 136" picked track across the lake for 100ft before the bearings broke free & started rolling -- then we continued at its Max Speed of 28mph 😄🙂 (I mighta sank my Yamaha in the lake the night before. Yup. Took about 6hrs to strip it, dry it, drain water from the fuel tank, and put it back together - then I was back on it again. Soooo anyways, after winching it 100yds through the water, it had frozen on land while we were packing-up the flat bottom canoe, winch w/100ft of cable, 200ft of Rope, Tow Truck J-Hook, etc)

There must have been an extenuating circumstances from the factory or prep from the individual! You should be able to ride these sleds less aggressive and without taxing the engines! They should also Thrive at high RPM as long as there is resistance at the track that doesn't allow the motor to over rev and blow! Something going on here?
