How to boost your Necron's Handle Chance in M7!

So what we called "weight" in the video is actually what admins call "quality". What we called chances is what admins call "weight". So whenever I said "weight", imagine I said "quality". Weight is another way to write chances down. A handle, for example, has 18 weight. A Precursor Gear has 1200 weight. More weight = higher chance. The chance for an item is ItemWeight divided by TotalWeight. For instance, a bedrock chest has 13895 Weight (All items add up to 13895). That means that the handle chance is 18/13895. So for short: Weight is another way to write chances down, quality is what allows certain combinations to happen, which I happened to call "weight".

I dont 100% know, however I am quite sure this is due to the game rolling for another 5% for shiny after the chest has been generated already. And well, dungeon chests generate from left to right, so if the dungeon chest has finished generating, and at the end decides to give you the 5% shiny buff, it puts it at the last slot, because it rolls for the "shiny" attribute last.

@@dergolli2824 I completely ignored Obsidian chest for this video. The real chance in an Obsidian chest is probably like 38% higher on S+, with S theres probably no boost at all. I dont have much values for Obsidian chest, I do have some data that I could look into and get more accurate values, the only problem being that it doesnt feel like its worth it, considering the wiki is going to be updated anyway, so the effort isnt really worth it. But to go into further detail, with maxed upgrades and S+ you can get a T2 book with a master star. T1 books and fish doesnt exist in Obsidian chest, so we need to account for that. It would also be not fair to assume the chance for T2 books are the same, because some items are locked to Bedrock chests (T1 books, fish, handle, scroll, Thunderlord7, necron dye), thus increasing the chance of every drop that isnt locked to bedrock chests. I might look into some data later and then I can calculate the real chance for Obsidian. Spoiler alert: the difference between S and S+ will be huge.

So I looked into the data and now know that, on S, even with maxed upgrades, your chance to get a master star is almost exactly equal to what it says on the rng meter. This means that you can only get a Master star on the first slot, with no other drops in your Obsidian chest, UNLESS you get S+. On S+, you can also get T2 books. Obsidian Chest (S+): 43w Obsidian Chest (S): 41w Master Star: 32w T2 book: 10w 10 + 32 = 42, therefore you need at least 42 units to increase your chance for a master star from Obsidian. In the following I will calculate the real chance to get a Master Star in Obsidian on S+ and S. Total weight (not quality) (Obsidian): 13274 Master Star weight: 30 Chance for Master Star (on S): 30/13274 or 0.226% (Chance for T2 book first slot: 4400/13274 or 33.147%) Chance for Master Star (on S+) 0.226 + (0.226 * 0.33373) = 0.3014% In other words: Your Star chance is 33.37% higher on S+. This buff would also apply if you have bossluck 5% (Bossluck 3).

I havent calculated that because honestly I dont really know how to. My estimate would be at 90% you unselect handle and claim the free one. In M7, since it is so likely to get it on the second slot, you will most likely not even get to fill your meter.

For F7, Maxed upgrades get you +0.2% handlechance, and +9.8% scroll chance. So it is not as crazy as in M7. I dont know the weight values in M6, but I know there are different combinations with master stars and Giants Sword with certain bossluck levels. However, since I dont have any data on it, I cant really tell you anything. What I can tell you though, is that the Wiki is being worked on right now, so the weight values for every item and their true chances will be released in the wiki soon (3-5 business days probably).

The real chance of a master star isnt the same in Obsidian as in bedrock. In the Obsidian chest in M7, the Master star chance on S runs is almost EXACTLY what it says on the rng meter, however, with Bossluck 4, treasure artifact and S+, you have a chance to get a T2book in the first slot, thus increasing your master star chance by a little over 31%. For the video, I completely ignored the Obsidian chest as it doesnt impact the overall profit of m7, and I also havent collected much data from Obsidian chest to make good conclusions. The wiki is also currently being worked on, so there isnt a point for me to collect data on other chests, if the real values and real chances are going to be officially releasd anyway.

It doesnt affect other drops much because the chance of Necron Dye was always very low anyway, so yes it makes my calculations a tiny bit inaccurate, but we are talking about a difference of maybe 0.2%, so it shouldnt matter much. Keep in mind I calculated everything manually, so I would have to recalculate EVERYTHING again just for the tiny chance to get a necron dye, which definitely isnt worth it. What you can do though, is wait until the updated Wiki page gets released (its currently being worked on, thats gonna be another 3-5 business days lol)

It doesnt reduce weight, I did not say that. However, what I called "weight" in this video, is what is actually called "quality". For the RNG Meter, quality isnt that important, if you set your RNG Meter, it will only work with "weight". The real "weight" is another way to write chances down. For instance, the handle weight is 18. If you add all the items up, you will get ~14000 weight. That means the chance to get a handle is 18/14000. This is what is actually called weight, I used the wrong terms, the concept still applies. Now, what the RNG Meter does is, it increases your Weight of your handle, but also increases the weight of the chest, capping at 3x chance. The formula to RNG Meter on handle looks like this: 100 * (18(1+2*x/231599)) / (13895 + 18(2*x/231599))) 100 * [multiplying by 100 to get the chance in %] 18 [being handle weight] x [being your RNG Meter score] 231599 [being your required maxed RNG Meter score] 13895 [being the weight of every item in a chest together] If you put this formula in like geogebra with the integrals [0; 231599] it will tell you the RNG Meter chances. Keep in mind, this doesnt consider S/S+, Treasure talisman and bossluck levels, so if you get maxed buffs, the already boosted RNG Meter chance is being boosted by 41.27%.

Yes that is better. You have a slight disadvantage when using the npc, which is that you cant get recombs, Stars or growth 6 / prot6 on the armor you drop using the NPC. But if you reroll at the end of a session, you have a higher RNG Meter, giving you a higher chance for handles, which is why generally speaking, you should reroll as late as possible using the NPC. I personally dont do that cuz Im too lazy.

Cause that one says "+3% extra loot" instead. How do I calculate how much chances im missing out on with only Boss Luck 3 and Treasure Ring? Should I focus on getting Boss Luck 4 before Infiniboom (As an Ironman playing M7)?

It is supposed to be "10% more weight" but at the end of the day it just gives you +2 units of weight. The treasure talisman levels seem to be multiplicative, because they actually change depending on the floor youre playing on. Bossluck however, always gives you +2w on any floor you play. There is a formula to this aswell. I recommend you use a conjuring as a replacement for infiniboom as long as you dont have it, however, since youre an ironman doing M7, I think you dont need handles / scrolls anymore, so I would go for the infiniboom, because the biggest difference about bossluck 4 is on handles and scrolls, on all other drops it becomes less and less noticeable. You could calculate the exact stuff yourself, by looking at the table (bossluck 3 and treasure ring is very specific, I dont know if that is included in the pastebin link, however, you can calculate the weight yourself and then apply it on your desired drops to get your real chances, and then compare it to bossluck 4 and treasure artifact, which is done in this video (or the description) already.

Good to know that it generally has the biggest effect on those tho. One more thing im wondering is if BL4 gives you +2 Weight, how do the lower tiers work? BL3 is +5%, so half of BL4, meaning +1 weight would make sense here. However, how do BL1 and 2 work then? Cause weight cant have decimals right?

@@purplejay8030 You see, in the video I ignored Undead Essence for simplicity. Technically, 1 weight = 10 undead Essence, because 1 wither essence = 10 Undead Essence. I did not mention that in the video because I thought it might be too complicated for the average viewer. Bossluck 2 gives you 1 Wither Essence and -4 Undead Essence, so technically, +6 units (or in the system I explained in the video: 0.6 weight). I am not 100% sure what Bossluck 1 does, but I think it gives you 0.2 weight (So +2 Undead Essence) Keep in mind if you have more than 10 Undead Essence in your chest, it converts into Wither Essence. I did not cover this in the video, because, like I said, I think I would have to overexplain everything if I did. Basically, what is 48w can be considered 480u, what is 10w can be called 100u.

There are 3 types of fish in f7/M7. Maxor The Fish Storm The Fish And Goldor The Fish. So whenever you have more than 1 type of fish, you need to calculate (fishchance * 3) * (fishchance * 2), times 3 because it can be any fish, times 2 because it can be any fish that is not the one in a previously dropped one. So the simple answer is: There are 3 fish items, they have the same chance and the same weight.

The +153% on Necron Dye meant that the chance of a Necron Dye is BY DEFAULT (if you get S+ and said upgrades) is 153% higher. This video used the RNG Meter chances and the weight-system, to calculate the real odds of getting certain drops. The point of this video is to show you that an S+ run increases your weight by a tiny bit, but that tiny bit allows you to get a WAY higher chance for a Necron's Handle. So, if you want to get a Necron's Handle, you set your RNG Meter on a Necron's Handle.

This is because the scroll weight in F7 is 1 unit lower than the handle weight in F7. I dont really know if the 9.85% is "worth it". I think it depends on how long you want to do F7. I would guess if you want to do like 1000 F7 runs, it might be worth it. You also get the handle chance increase (the 0.22%) if you have bossluck 5% and treasure artifact, or treasure ring and bossluck 10%. You can look at the document in the description about F7 weight to calculate it yourself if you really want to. In the description, I have a list of F7 weight (but not chances, because I was too lazy).

Do u reroll in or outside the dungeon with croesus I heard boss luck don't work in croesus I just want ur opinion

Bossluck and treasure artifact, aswell as your S+ score both work in croesus. The only disadvantage in Croesus is that you can not get stars / enchants / recombs on armor pieces. However, the advantage is you can reroll in croesus after a session of runs, so you can use your now-higher RNG meter to reroll the chests.

@@wasdc the higher rng meter should be a lot better, but Im lazy so I reroll in runs, the difference shouldnt be too big.

A similar concept applies on F7. 0.2% handle boost, (almost nothing) 9.8% scroll boost Im assuming maxed upgrades. For more information, you can look at the F7 weight list in the description.
