Karo syrup was key I think for our calf. Thanks for idea. Had been tubing twice a day for 4 days. Wouldnt suck fingers let alone bottle. Let him go until noon before feeding. Started with finger in syrup then switched to bottle. Had to make nipple hole bigger but he finally took. Thank goodness. Much appreciate your help!

Darn we lost the momma at least she's not suffering anymore! the calf hasn't yet learned to suck my dad got the Karo syrup didn't work yet but the calf is super scared and now the whole heard wonders why she's in a pen balling for food & the mom!

It helps if there's some touch contact with the (clean parts of the) calf's butt end. It mimics the momma cow licking his butt, which somehow wakes up the front end.

Is there another thing we can try…cow is now 3 weeks, has been drinking with mom for 2 weeks and now ache needs bottle but won’t accept this. It’s now almost a week we are struggling, force her, so she has something of food but it’s not okay… I don’t know what to do anymore and afraid she won’t survive if she has not enough milk. She has also flakes and she also won’t eat that. Milk in a bucket also not accepting…
