The commitment to your backswing, especially with driver, is to be admired. The trust you place in the downswing to arrive where you need it really makes me want to improve further - knowing that it is possible. Great vids, keep 'em coming (from the UK ;))

Steady Eddie strikes again. The way of the playa. I hope this doesn't mess with your mind Adam, but I find it really interesting that your backswing is so long with driver/4 wood, but short with irons - evidence of a home grown swing and just doing what works for you vs trying to copy Rory/DJ or whoever or worrying about club face angles and static positions. Curious about the cliff face bunker shot on 12 - was it impossible to build a stance on the lip where you could play it back in the stance and just chip it out with PW?

Lol! Worth noting that I'm a relatively short hitter. It's rare that I hit one over 240-250 in neutral conditions. So yes, part of the prescription is to hit it straight, even if that means putting the driver on the shelf in favor of a straight 200-250 club :)

I watch pretty much all your videos. What I'm really taking away now after watching dozens: There are just 3 things you need to do for breaking 80 regularly; 1) Be relatively straight off the tee and approach, 2) lag putt well, 3) make 1 or 2 "harder" putts like a random 8-10 footer, etc. Nothing crazy like, "must hit 75% GIR" or "must chip everything inside of 6ft" like you might read on Golf Digest. 3 simple "rules" to try and live by.

Haha my emotions changed so many times throughout the putt. I was very confident in my read, and at impact I thought I had put a good stroke on it…then after the first 3 ft it looked wide to me, but then at about 3 ft *from* the hole I thought it was in. And then the golf gods said no. The emotional roller coaster of those 5 seconds was like a microcosm of the emotional roller coaster of golf itself :p

#14 at Burnaby Mountain is the hardest par4 in the area I think. Long dogleg left to an uphill tiered and super sloped green
@davekennedy86263 жыл бұрын
Would tend to agree with that assessment. Even with a top notch tee shot, is it difficult to get a shot to hold the green. Most of us need a 5-6 iron or even a hybrid to get to the small, very sloped green. Even when on the green, the undulations make getting to the hole and not rolling 6 feet past it very difficult.

Suggestion: Please add course name to the title. When you have made a number of videos, it is much easier to find a specific course. And it helps when I plan to play a course for the first time, and watch your shot-by-shot first to get a grip of what that course is like. Thanks.

Appreciate the suggestion. I've always assumed that people won't care about the name of the course unless they're in the Vancouver area and happen to know them. To clarify, would you be more inclined to watch a video with a specific course name in the title? Thanks again :)

New subscriber here, big fan of your vlogs. As a low 90’s shooter, would love to start shooting in the low 80’s again. How often do you play & practice? I try to practice about once a week and play once a month, so not sure if low 80’s is realistic based on my frequency
@NotAScratchGolfer3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you're enjoying the content! I might not be the best reference point...I took up the game ~4 years ago and for ~2 years I played 4-5x/wk. Now I play a bit less but still 100+ rounds/yr. I actually don't practice on the driving range at all. Truth be told I love *playing* golf as much as I hate *practicing* it, with the exception of putting which I do at home on a mat (I've made a game out of it to keep it from feeling like rote work). Are you able to identify where you are losing strokes? My (amateur) observation is that most golfers can easily shave a few strokes off their game with better decision making (especially off the tee) and, most importantly, by honing their skills around the greens. Keep on grindin' and keep us posted on your progress!!
@kappa10323 жыл бұрын
@@NotAScratchGolfer that’s awesome, yeah at 4-5x a week I get why you don’t need to hit the range haha. Amazing how you got the handicap down after 4 yrs. Losing strokes around the greens and on the tee. Putting and iron play are my strong suits now, so I’ve been focusing on mostly chipping and pitching lately. Thanks for the advice man, keep up the great work on the videos

I am noticing on the last 2 videos and this one your chipping and pitching is a little off compared to your normal short game. I guess you have those kind of days if you play that often.
