Outstanding video. I traded my driver in and only carry a Cleveland Hy-wood now. It has done wonders for keeping the ball in play and it is plenty long off the tee. 1) your caddie is quickly becoming the Robin to your Batman……..Guh Shaaaaawwwwwhhht!,!! I’m not one to comment on things but I did want to say that the way of the playa works. I took up golf around a year ago and my HCP is down to 22 from 49. Playing mainly with irons, very rarely touching the driver or the 3 hybrid, and just playing when I can. Playing safe golf, avoiding the traps and aiming for the fat side of the green. Appreciate the videos Matty 🤙

Breaking 80 is hard for us ams.I got down to seven in my late thirties after lots of work,relying on chipping and putting more so.Now at 80 years I managed 39 stableford points the other day off 20.Chipping and one putting contributed again.Age does catch up but putting and chipping still gives us a chance !!

Crazy how course management allows you to score well even on days your ball striking is absolute garbage. I was close to breaking 80 today with a pb 82, and was hitting worm burners all day with my 6-4 irons 😂 but missing in the right spots left me easy or doable chips and more up and downs thanks for the videos on course management 👊

When I research the difference between woods and long irons, some sites say irons are more accurate and others say woods are. Can you please explain what your video is demonstrating: is it "an iron loses distance but makes up for it with greater accuracy?"

It’s player to player. Some have sufficient enough swing speeds to get optimal spin and ascent angle with long irons… those that don’t, should play woods for the forgiveness and launch they provide. You may get less spin with a wood but the height will make up for that by still giving that “soft landing” high spin iron shots provide.

@@NicoGolf. thanks. I figured out the source of my confusion: woods typically go farther and have more forgiveness (when you don't hit exactly in the center) but are not as accurate; irons do't go as far, are not as forgiving but are more accurate. I was confusing "forgiveness" and "accuracy."

Anyone giving definitive answers on irons or woods or hybrids being more accurate is not an honest person or a real golfer. You try all of them, pick which gives you the best result. That being said, everyone should have a 7 wood

I think James point is more about the fact that high handicaps have no clue where the ball is going to go and spend more time in shit and ob than they do in the fairway. Most of the strokes come from penalties and bad shots and not from aiming poorly or not playing smart. Using his videos and taking lessons I've broke 80 once and consistently shoot low 90s to mid 80s (from barely breaking 100 every round). His advice is correct for most people but if you can't predict where the ball is going to go some of them don't mean much... it's time to get some swing tweaks or some live lessons and I promise the Playa in Chief's advice will come into play a lot more often in your rounds
