A tip i picked up from my own breeding projects: if you have a really good breeding male and want to keep him for as long as possible, send him to the trading center as soon as all the females in the habitat get pregnant. The trading center prevents him from aging and you'll get more breeding out of him than usual.

A great tip! Really helps especially if you're just breeding for the appeal boost. I'd say the same goes for females too if you're looking for perfect stats since you can see breeding outcomes even when they're locked up!

I've been breeding Albinos only and have great success. I started with the Peafowl factory and let me tell you... I'm over run haha. Highly recommend starting with peafowl in franchise mode to make leaf money fast. Anyways, I'm trying a new technique where I just need one enclosure. And once a female is pregnant I removed both the pair and add my next pair. Then once she's pregnant, I remove the male again (so he doesn't keep aging) and add the other pregnant female. (This works with tigers.) Then both their cubs grow at the same rate.

You are exactly right, actually. If you wanted to then you could have two or more males in a habitat, however it would eliminate the point of selectively choosing your mates as you then would have an equal chance of the wrong male impregnating your female. I don't think I explicitly stated it in the video but all multi-multi animals I consider to be in the 1-x category.

Good tips, thanks! Have you noticed that the game seems to ignore the "interbirth period" if you leave the offspring in the same habitat as the parents? However if you move the offspring out then the game honors the interbirth (ie, let's the female become pregnant much sooner than if the offspring is around waiting to age into adulthood). As a parent I get it. Kids kill sex drives. I just didn't expect such realism in a zoo game! Lol.
@TheOriginalHipsterJesus

Hahahaha, very astute. This is part of the reason I have the extra habitat for each species to move offspring to. To be honest, I just ended up cutting the whole explanation out of the video to make it a little shorter. I will try to squeeze it into the zoo layout video if I can, though I suspect that one might run long.

When I made the video, there was no such feature, but now you can check parentage in the studbook tab of the animal's pop-up. Otherwise, you can come up with your own naming convention to know at a glance. Personally, I like the idea of giving all the females in the same line names that start with the same letter. Amber, Angela, Aranea, etc, from "A" through however many mates the male can have. Hope that helps!

@TheOriginalHipsterJesus
@TheOriginalHipsterJesus 3 жыл бұрын
The medal system is just silly lol. As is the CC value of animals in offline mode. They both scale based on how far away from about 250 points all 4 of your animals stats are. That means that having a perfect animal with 100 in each makes it worth about the same as an animal with a 25 in every stat. It's actually a detriment to max the animals out, but it's cool for collecting, and the animals you make along the way are usually worth good CC.

I looked at koalas. 6000CP for a gold... really 😏 Thanks to your videos, I bought a pair of cheap ones, they bred a pair of golds, they both sold for 5000... Long story short, the “zoo” consists of 3 enclosures and a couple of shops just breeding koalas to sell for a ridiculous amount on the market 😂😂😂 3 hours, the “zoo” is on $1.4million, 85000CP, and I’ve still got 15 gold koalas left to trade 😏 Koala Simulator 2021...

@@talon4314 Hahaha koala simulator sounds about right. Really there are certain animals that are gonna sell really well on the market cuz its FLOODED with CC. With all of the release X animals challenges and considering people who have been playing since launch there are tons of people with millions of CC to burn. There's a lot to consider where pricing is concerned but even selling stuff for 10k CC is chump change for a lot of people, and underselling tends to be bought by scalpers far more often than people who are actually CC poor. But, good on you for finding something that works for you! One of these days I'll get around to unpacking genetics and maybe provide a guaranteed way to get perfect animals.

@TheOriginalHipsterJesus

This is all well and good for making a few animals with a high rating, but bronze, silver, and gold have little bearing on consistently breeding good animals, let alone perfect ones. The method in the video guarantees at least a certain quality, and is only really necessary for collector's sake.

Is it possible to get leucistic animals in sandbox mode?
@TheOriginalHipsterJesus
@TheOriginalHipsterJesus 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. It is just more difficult as you have to get lucky on your own and find the gene combination (which you can't see) to get one. A ton of the people you see with leucistic animals in franchise bought them from the market. Personally I think the sandbox market should allow you to fully customize your animals instead of being a near-clone of the challenge mode market. We shall see if Frontier believes the same.

@@richardmason332 Between this and the better breeding video I've explained all of this lol. You can't explicitly tell which animals have which genes. You just have to bring in as many outside animals as you can in the hopes that eventually you breed two that are both carriers for leucism. Check out the "Breed better animals" video on my channel. It shows you where the limits are in Zoopedia. But yes, you just need to keep swapping out a mate for their same sex offspring whenever they have better stats in the first two, until you hit 200X. Then keep those 200X babies in the trade center and keep making or looking on the market for other 200X animals. Compare mates with each one until you find one that has a chance of being perfect :). It takes time, usually 10-50 in-game years, depending on the species. Longer for elephants. That's why I reccomend building a zoo just for this purpose.

I'll do my best to help :) If you're in franchise and trading with other people you just keep comparing mates in the trade window and checking back until you find a match, and if you're trying to breed a match yourself you just need to keep producing offspring and trying each one against your existing babies. Remember to introduce as much variation as you can though, especially if you're looking for leucistic animals. Either way finding this match is the longest part of the process unfortunately.

I've found that animals with 100 in all stats really rarely create perfect offspring. That's because unlike the first two genes, the second two play off of eachother based on hidden values. Sometimes fertility and immunity both even need to be at or near 0 for certain pairings to create perfect babies.

Was this game made in the Bible Belt, Jesus? No mating animations and also birth seems to be immaculate. Not very educational!

Well, you see Patrick, none of these animal parents have been granted state-approved marriage licenses. Therefore out of respect for these beautiful creatures we HAVE to assume there's been no pre-marital relations and therefore that all the babies are indeed immaculately conceived.
