I really like the fact that you shared a google sheet for your viewers. I have been watching so many youtube videos of a simple beer recipe for my first brew. I guess you are the first one who documented the recipe for sharing

Glad it helps! I did the same when I started brewing and had so many questions. Good luck to you and let me know how it goes!

Hi, its ok to put the yeast at that temperature about 80? or did you chilled before putting the yeast?
@HandzforHire4 жыл бұрын
Ideally you’d like the wort to cool to 70 degrees before pitching the yeast. Since I live in FL, it’s tough to achieve anything less than 80 without chilling. I usually get impatient and pitch my yeast around 80. Lol. I’ve fortunately never had an issue. Are you brewing soon?

Thoughts on using iodine for sanitation?
@HandzforHire3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, I have personally never used it, but I know it's extremely effective for sanitation purposes. Ten minutes and 99.99% of all microbes will be killed. The only downside of it is the potential for it to stain your equipment. As a result there is Iodophers which is iodine mixed with a water soluble polymer and this seems to get around the negative side effects of just iodine.

I am with you on everything except the irish moss. Hefeweizen should be thick! Great video though.

CYN3RGY thanks so much! I’m with you and I promise it was still thick and delicious. I just added a small pinch of Irish moss.

NO SOAP!!!!!
@Naturalhealing0992 жыл бұрын
Soap is perfectly fine as long as you rinse it properly. I used to believe all heretic people freaking out about soap then I relized that even using it to clean the bottles doesn't impact anything. The beer foam is still nice, thick and stable. Just rinse.
