I made this video in response to the comments on the video that I had posted a few weeks back titled "My Story." The comments that you guys suggested were budget videos and how to save/invest money. I wanted to put this video out before the investing side, because you need a foundation before putting up the whole building. If your finances are built on sand, you will most likely fall down!
A strong foundation is key in personal finance, and I hope you guys use this excel sheet religiously like I do every single month. I usually start filling everything in the 1st week of the month. I am a visual learner, and numbers guy. I graduated SJSU with a business degree, so numbers and graphs are my language!
If this helps you out, please feel free to leave a comment, so that I know that I am actually providing value. This template is totally free and clear for you to use in your daily life. It takes time to build up the excel sheet and fill out all the info, but once you get like about 3 months of expenditures in there, the graphs then start to make sense, and you can make adjustments where needed.
I usually try my best to focus on food, because that's the best controllable item in the budget. If you are careless, you can really spend a ton of money on food without noticing it. Once you start to track, you'll realize everything! Happy budgeting!

As a retired banker, I wish more young people got this. In all honesty, I was middle aged before figuring this out. Staying on budget allowed me to retire comfortably when some of my older colleagues virtually died on their jobs.

I was the same, it was 2018 and I was 44 years old when I eventually figured out I needed to manage my finances better as retirement was within sight. A short 5 years later I had saved a load of money and purchased a few rental properties.

Frankly it's as easy as logging every receipt/outflow on a spreadsheet to see what your expenses look like. Along with a pro forma end of month balance sheet that shows what your situation looks like.

This is cool. I wrote my own program which I want to show on youtube soon. It seems simpler than this. But what is interesting is your food and supplement costs are way less than mine and you are a physique competitor and I am wanting to be like one. My budgeting is showing $550 per month on food and over $100 per month on supplements and I am skinny and people say I need to eat more LOL. I am also 67 so I am old to go along with all this.

This has got to be a joke! Taking financial advice from a guy who is loosing his home and can’t pay the mortgage because he bought two Teslas and a home he couldn’t afford living paycheck to paycheck 🤔 pls stop giving money management advice when you my friend couldn’t even do it yourself trying to keep up with the hype . Be humble and stop faking it. Live within your means!
