How to Build a 316 Stainless Steel Pushpit for Sailboat

First time building a 316 stainless steel tube pushpit.
Will be building a pullpit and stanchions in future.
Total cost of 6m lenght of 316 was only $60 AUD.
Next time will use correct size mandrel.

The jiggling end piece of a tape measure is purposefully designed to accommodate measuring by both pushing a tape up against an object or hooking it over the edge of an object, and the jiggle accounts for the thickness of the metal hook, so measuring either way will be accurate.

It's not that you need a mandrel bender, you just need to install the correct radius stationary pieces in your press. The moving, center piece appears to be the correct radius, but two the black pieces are way too big. If you had the right pieces, you wouldn't have to fill with sand either. All three pieces that touch the tubing have to be sized to the tubing you're bending. Good job though! Much credit for building yourself and trying to get around the wrong tool size with an idea like filling with sand!!

It’s called a hydraulic pipe bender. Non mandrel type which you can buy for about 200 bucks. If you just google that it’ll come up!
