Good morning 🌅 Honey B, Great looking job, and obviously using recycle timber is good, so it can cause problems and create more time involved in the construction, I have done this myself over years, and I ended up in a lot of cases having to charge more for the job, But if you explain that it’s gonna take longer because you have got to cut apart and re-construct and engineer the item, they’ve always seem to be fine, Keep up the great work stay safe , from France,

Nicely done. You really have that radial arm finely tuned and that skill saw is not for the faint hearted either…bravo.

I use double sided tape also to hold drawer fronts. It’s the only way I have found to keep them from shifting when placing the screws. Great video

Agreed, it’s the best way I’ve found to do it.

Things going good, it’s a great video showing how to work with reclaimed timber and a perfect way of showing how you can get the overall effect of solid timber from the original reclaimed piece when in fact half the project is made from plywood but you would never know by looking at it, really great job as always 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

Thanks! That was the goal to be able to fill in what pieces we needed, so I'm happy that comes across in the series.

Great vid full of useful tips, for me its brilliant to see wood being reused i try to use as much reclaimed wood as possible, as my projects are for myself or family its easier and saves money and unless you tell people most of the time they dont realise

Saves so much money. We need so much waste in this world. This is my favorite way to work.

Some more great footage of this project, thank you Caitlin. I have thought about combining rebates and finger joints but had never seen it done until now. This process seems to be a perfect solution under these circumstances. Great to see how you also size the false fronts on your draw boxes. Thanks again.

Thanks! I was really hoping to not have to build the drawer boxes from scratch so that was the only way to do it.

Admire your appetite for hard work ,Badger,and this effort is so full of compromises that it's a devil of a trick to pull off.All this when most people's idea of hard work is yelling at someone over the mobile phone.Good stuff!

So much information delivered so efficiently, thank you. I watched the drawer-front fine tuning cut process twice as I always thought I just wasn't making my openings square enough. Do you find each cabinet like this develops its own 'personality' as you build it or have you built too many now? I often find small quirks and characteristics in the wood or a slightly odd angle or a stray chisel cut that give me a sense of building something individual. I made a large pair of matching bathroom cabinets recently out of functional melamine but didn't get that feel with them.
@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks2 ай бұрын
I for sure think each piece has a personality. And after all these years I have yet to glue up one of these that is 100 percent completely square in all directions. Especially when working with long spans and natural wood, even if the corner is square it does mean somewhere along the perimeter doesn't have a bow or a curve. In fact in most cases it definitely means that. It's one of the reasons I do not like to do movable shelves, especially on larger cabinets. The fixed shelf helps keep that edge consistently flat.
