Advice from someone who works with both a belt and vest…distribute the weight, everything has its place, strategically place your items on your belt and vest that makes sense, comfortable to you, and train with it. I’m right handed…I clear everything on my right hip to ensure a clear and quick draw from holster. I have items on my right hip (baton rear right if needed, TQ behind it but reachable in any circumstance), handcuffs in front right of my body for quick transfer (if needed). Left side front is my other less-than-lethal (if applicable), radio, small pouch (with small items), and still gives you room for other items on your belt while trying to keep your backside clear for comfort while sitting. 5.56 Mags I distribute on my vest, along with a d-ring f/gloves (also can be put on belt), and enough room on your vest for other pouches that carry lighter weight (just remember it’ll get in your way when prone, keep that in mind). The set up really comes down to personal preference 9x/10, but should be practical for what you’re doing. 🇺🇸 🍻

Everyone should be prepared, I was taught to train like you fight. I keep a Maxpedition back pack go-bag in my truck with the basic things you might need in an emergency. I change it up depending on what time of the year it is, a change of clothes for when it's summer time, and switch it up when the cold weather hits. Also keep some "specially" equipment for that just in case situation. Keep up the information you give, it's solid advice.

Solid ass set up man! I just started looking into rifles and trying to find the best one for my "situation" home/self defense. I also get insecure when talking to people about it "You have a pistol already, why do you need a rifle?" or "That's pushing it dude, men fight with their hands." Trying to explain why is almost like teaching quantum physics, most won't understand. Also, you fight to win, not fair. Just my opinion great video happy new years man.

@noneyabidness196 let me ask you a question "Shooter". Do you remember the 1st time you shot in a humans direction? I don't want to assume like you did. Adrenaline is one the biggest factors in addressing a threat. Sitting at a table with the rifle propped up and sights dialed in is easy. The object is to train for a probability, will I face an Abrams here? No. Could I face a lunatic with twin 30 round mags dumping in my direction? Not unlikely these days. You were proficient enough to be assigned a side arm 20 yrs ago, can you still operate the same? To each his own, I'll continue to occasionally train the way I do. I would hope others have training, and the testicular fortitude to do what is right within their ability.

If I can offer a piece of advice. (I train people to defend themselves, their homes, communities and country) Always always always buy once cry once. If they feel a need to have it then they should have the best or close to it. Keep your mags in the front of your carrier slim. I run a double left and esstac kiwi longs on the front. Never ever ever keep a knife on your chest. You’ll wear it in your neck if shit goes wrong. Remember you don’t need a thousand pistol mags. I usually keep two on my belt, one in my gun and if I think I’ll need spares I’ll pack out my flat pack with them. *to the weekend warrior with love* you don’t need a helo retention lanyard unless you have a bird or other people you’re training with. They can be attached to drag handles and lets you stay in the fight with both hands on the gun instead of one. Last but not least. You should be carrying 4. Count them FOUR tourniquets on you at all times. High and tight when in theater, 3 inches above arterial bleeds if you’re not in danger. Sharpie the forehead with the time, finger check and reassess every time you move your casualty. That is all

Too much on that belt broski. That radio will get in the way of the gun if you go to draw. My opinion is a chest rig with comms/mags in a bag and a belt with holster, pistol mag pouch, med kit and knife that you can reach with both hands or off hand. Why keep the knife where the gun is? If you’re in the ground, you’re keeping both tools on the same side? Just my thoughts.
