1: find a jump. 2: bring your open hand back, behind your shoulders. 3: keep your hand open as you bring your hand forward.the more power with which you do this, the better lesson taught to the jump. 4: impact. 5: follow through. Keep your hand on the jump for about a second, or recoil your hand dramatically 6: realise the jump is now in bad health. 7: get some tylenol, cough syrup, and a cold pack. 8: nurse the jump back to health. 9: apologize for hitting the jump. 10: take the jump in as your own.

in most shops you get the dealer cost, which is about 45-50% off. But with a little effort you can get cost minus 15% or more on staff deals programs. Sometimes you have to go through an online course about their products and you get access to some pretty amazing deals

Incomparable situations because of different surfaces and lubricants used. Not to mention that it's not universally true. Yeah, I don't find that joke funny :) And it's definitely not true in the shop. You lubricate the thing that's easier and more practical to apply lubricant to, in this case it's the axle. If you put grease at the entrance of a hub, the axle will just push it through and most of it will stay at the axle's end, not lubricating anything inside the hub. Same goes for applying anti-slip compounds - you apply them on the part that goes inside the other part. And usually same for threads, whether you're using grease or threadlocker.

As a person who works in a bike shop building bikes, can confirm. Except for the fact that there aren't drinks in the shop... but yeah it's pretty much there. (Don't forget to torque anything that you can shove the wrench into)

do it yourself! also make sure to understand what they are really quouting you for. Quality bike maitenance takes a lot of time, and businesses need to pay their employees. If you can't afford bike shop rates, learn yourself! You can do any regular bike maitenance with a muti tool

Nevermind checking wheel true, spoke tension, handlebar angles, lever position, brake rub, pistons evenly contact, brake lines are cut to length, hanger is aligned to the dish of the wheel, gear limits dialed in, b-tension adjusted correctly(and for sag), gear cable tension adjusted correctly, linkage and crank bolts tightened and torqued correctly, tire bead seated, headset preload, stem bolts tightened to 5-6nm, and this is all just for a very prebuilt Mbike.... But it's K, when they skip all this and break stuff I guess it gives us bike dudes a job.
