How to build a BOARD lifter in 2 minutes (ish)

A plaster board lifter is so useful when boarding a ceiling. So I bought one.
And built it in minutes...Ok so it actually took an hour or two but that is because the instructions for this plaster board lifter were designed, written and drawn by someone who hates their customer.
It was ridiculously bad.
Their is a special place in hell for whoever made those instructions...
But because I am such an easy-going, chill person, I managed to do it with a smile on my face (and about £20 into the swear jar!)
The latest update as Nigel T Best, Matt and Sally take a tired, subsiding house and totally transform it into a Dream House.
We are doing it (almost) all ourselves! What could possibly go wrong?!
Watch us over coffee...! www.buymeacoff...
HAVE YOU: Watched all those property shows like Homes Under The Hammer, Location Location Location or even building a Grand Design?
Have you longed of doing it yourself...but months (or years) later find you still haven't done it?
Why is that? Maybe this channel will encourage and inspire you?!
We feel everyone has a dream property, don't you?
What's your Dream House?
Castle, Chateau, Houseboat?
What about a lopsided 2 bed terrace? No?
Well, that's our choice.
But at the moment it is a bit of a disaster - no kitchen, heating to only half the house, dodgy electrics and woodchip wallpaper everywhere.
Can we turn it around?
We hope we can but we also hope it might inspire you to have a go and maybe EscapeToTheDreamHouse!

With our love, Nigel & Sally

Good job Nigel. I would have also scratched my head with that lift cable, I was right there with you on that one! Just a reminder, but I'm sure you already know this but just in case... you need to stagger the seams of the drywall. I don't remember why the 'experts' said to do that, but I do remember watching several explain it, I have a folder on my channel list for drywall and you're welcome to go there and take a look at the videos. I'm sure n several of them you'll see why and how. I don't know if this video is something you recorded awhile back and you've already finished this stage of the room, but just in case you haven't, then there ya go. Stay safe & warm.

@@MoonbeamAcres great to hear from you! You may have missed me saying that I am staggering the joints as I was told it stops it cracking when I learnt this nonsense about 20+years ago!!! But great knowledge to share 😊 What are you up to? How is that garage-o-minimum??!!

@@EscapeToTheDreamHouseUK We've had a cold icy winter off and on so I've not done anything for awhile out there. I'm hopeing to get back out there and start working again in March when it warms up, hopefully by then I will feel better. My car broke down and I've been test driving vehicles at car lots and crawling under them checking the undersides and I did something to my hip. At times I can't hardly put weight on it but I must push thru the pain to be able to get to work and get thru my shift. It's hell being old isn't it. LOL I sure wish you were here right now, I have decided to go head and get the parts and repair my own car and probably tomorrow I will be taking off the alternator and serpentine belt and replacing them with new ones. Thank God they're on top and there's no need to crawl under the vehicle, I'm not sure I could go thru that again until I heal up a bit. I'm dreading the serpentine belt replacement, those things are a doozy! But I have watched several videos on it and have made a diagram on how it winds around the tensioner pulley and other pulleys so I *should* be good. Cross your fingers, eyes and legs... I'm going to need a prayer also. And when that's done, I have to trace all the radiator lines and hoses to find the leak I also have. I hope it's just a hose and not the radiator itself.... And then I have to trouble shoot the wiring problem. It's probably behind the dash so that will have to come out so I can take a gander behind and under it. So, I have my work cut out for me. I have spoken with several mechanics who would do all of this for several hundred dollars (I'm a Woman so they want to take advantage of my 'ignorance') so I am going to just research it all one step at a time and do it myself. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. 😟
