Well I got it done! I have an 800 gph pump on it now and will probably go bigger. The sound is still nice and relaxing though. Thanks again for the inspiration! kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4PVZXh7prB6gNk

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Can you please guess at a head of 300 littes ph punp for 1 meter and should l use grid or solar power Thanks 👌
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 3 ай бұрын
So that’s 75 gph? At 3 ft? Sorry not good with metric 🤣✌️ I would use a bigger pump for 3 ft of head And I wouldn’t do solar power Personally ✌️✌️

Great tutorial and extra tips. Is there a way to routinely clean or disinfect these for birds?
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 6 ай бұрын
Yes. The best way is to just pump the water out, pressure wash the fountain, and refill with fresh water Do this as often as needed. There are animal safe additives too, if you don’t want to drain it
@Yessssz
@Yessssz 6 ай бұрын
@@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 thank you! I was unaware about animal safe additives

@@Yessssz No problem Ya there are a few different options Algaecide, that basically reduces oxygen in the water and starves out sting algae And there are water clarification products And beneficial bacteria too

You should be able to very easily attach some vinyl tubing to the output e.g. with a nylon barb connector, to drain the reservoir to wherever you like for water change.
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 5 ай бұрын
@@herbiecactus6687 Very true A drain could be added to the basin if you don’t have access to a pump. I would recommend a bulkhead fitting on the bottom or side of the basin with a ball valve that you could open to drain it. But there’s always a risk for leaks when you cut a hole in the basin. The basin only holds a small amount of water so they are pretty easy to clean out.

😂 Ya but you can find some good weathered limestone up there! Check with Refections Water Gardens They can probably help you out in your area!

This is the most unique and best looking rock bubbler I've seen. But that seems like way less than 5000 GPH. Is there a valve on the pump? Or is the rock that big/matter of perspective?
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 Жыл бұрын
Thanks!! And yes there is a valve on the pump to reduce flow as needed. I always go a little bigger on my pumps just in case. It’s always hard to guess what the flow is going to look like in the finished product 😅 Flow rate is more art then science sometimes. The pump doesn’t mind a little back pressure. Only downside would be that a larger pump would draw a small amount more electricity. But not drastically in this case. 👊👊🙏🙏

How do they take care of it in the winter?
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 Жыл бұрын
You can leave the fountain running all winter if you want. It will create cool ice formations. However most of the time people will pull the pump out and drain any plumbing lines just to be safe.

There is a small door in the basin to access the pump and clean out the basin.

Looks very nice. How would you set this up so you can get to the pump/filter for maintenance?
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! For this system, we used a prefabricated basin that has an access lid built into it. For easy access to the pump. Just move a little river rock away, and you can open the access hatch. Sorry I didn’t get that part on film. There are other ways to build the fountain with the pump location away from the base of the fountain. Such as, using an external pump. But depends on the site and size of fountain. Feel free to give me a call for more details. 828-301-8017 Thanks

May I ask good sir, how much did this cost for the person? How much can one expect top pay to have this done at their home?
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 5 ай бұрын
Good question It really depends on a few things Site access Size of boulder Location of the property And a few other details I can’t remember the exact price of this fountain But you could expect $4,000-$8,000 on average I think this feature was somewhere in the middle Around $6k They had pretty good access to the project area So we were able to bring a machine in to set the boulder without having to go across much landscape area Thanks!

Do you guys have to call an electrician to run power for pumps located further from outlets or just run conduit underground/hidden? Thanks for the great content!
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 Жыл бұрын
Ya if there’s not an outlet within 10 ft of the new pump, we always call our electrician to run a new line. Pumps should not be run off of an extension cord. It’s dangerous and not good for the pump😅👊🤙👍

What did you use to support the weight of the boulder??
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119
@livingwaterslandscapingash3119 2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the boulder. Smaller boulders can be set directly on the basin. For this one we set some cinder blocks inside the basin, under the top plate. There’s many ways to do it. Some features we will lay down a liner and pour a concrete slab on top. Then mortar block to the slab to support the boulder.
