How to build a CFT (Continuous Flow Trough) Worms' bin for dummies (like me)

Nice job. I am also building a CFT but I made the mistake of drilling the pipe holes too small. So ya learn from your mistakes and continue on. Good luck with your new bin.

Gaetano, ho finalmente finito il mio CFT da 600 litri simile al tuo, e lo sto avviando. Una curiosità... C'è la possibilità che i lombrichi scappino lasciandosi cadere a terra dal fondo? E se si, come previeni questa cosa?

Si, capita spessissimo soprattutto se il materiale è secco. Metti dei contenitori sul.fondo e quando trovi materiale lo ributti dentro

@@northeastworms ho capito. Quindi è meglio fare un livello inferiore metterci un cassettone scorrevole con un po' di lettiera. Altrimenti corro il rischio che mi cadano sul cemento e si secchino

@@albertos.8556 esattamente, controlla ogni giorno e ributta dentro. Quando la lettiera diventa casting si compatta e non cade piu

Ciao Alberto. Si le misure sono piu o meno quelle. Io parto con 5 kg di lombrichi ma un sistema come questo ne puo' ospitare tranquillamente anche 10 kg al massimo della sua saturazione. Parto leggero per dare piu spazio. Ad un certo punto ne costruiro un' altra per dividere la popolazione

@@northeastworms potrebbe esserti utile inserire sulle pareti interne un metro per capire quanto è alta la lettiera finora inserita, ed eventualmente monitorare il calo del materiale in lavorazione.

@@albertos.8556 ho preso uno di quei metri in legno e lo metterò in un angolo, sto ancora sistemando l'angolo dove deve andare, poi farò la lettiera e la faccio maturare almeno una settimana e poi introduco I lombrichi. Naturalmente farò dei video follow up di ogni cosa
